Novato Chevrolet has always been a top notch dealership and service shop. I bring both my Chevy trucks to them whenever it is time for routine maintenance. The staff is great ( Kyle ), always a pleasure to work with.
The staff was very informative and professional. They helped me make the best decision for my budget.
I purchased a 2017 Toyota Tacoma with 46,700 miles (VIN: 3TMDZ5BN3HM030325) from Chevrolet Novato located at 7123 Redwood Blvd, Novato, CA 94945 on February 16, 2026. At the time of the sale, I was told that the vehicle was in good working condition and that everything on the truck was functioning properly. On March 3, 2026, I discovered that the air conditioning system does not work at all. This issue was never disclosed to me before purchasing the vehicle. With such low mileage, this is clearly something that should have been addressed or at least disclosed before the sale. After discovering the issue, I contacted the dealership and brought the truck in so they could inspect it. Their own staff confirmed that there is a problem with the air conditioning system. However, they told me they would not take responsibility for the repair because I did not purchase an extended warranty. What was even more surprising is that they suggested I purchase a warranty after the sale so that I could repair the problem on a vehicle they had just sold me. In my opinion, it is unreasonable to expect a customer to buy a warranty just to fix a defect that already existed when the vehicle was sold. I am extremely disappointed with this experience. I trusted the dealership’s representation that the vehicle was in good working condition, but shortly after the purchase I discovered a significant problem that they now refuse to repair.
I called Novato Chevrolet specifically to confirm that a vehicle I found online was available to see in person before making the drive up from San Francisco. Miguel assured me it was there. Based on that confirmation, I rented a car and drove 50 minutes to the dealership. When I arrived, I waited about 20 minutes while Miguel searched for the vehicle. He then returned with someone who appeared to be a manager to inform me that the car was not on the lot and wouldn't arrive until Thursday. This is exactly the scenario I called ahead to avoid. What followed was even more frustrating. Rather than acknowledging the mistake and genuinely apologizing, Miguel's partner pivoted into a sales pitch about what a great "deal" the car was, as if I needed convincing. I was already there. He also mentioned he'd received five other calls about the vehicle, which raises an obvious question: if there's that much interest, how did he not know the car hadn't arrived yet? I lost a full afternoon and the cost of a rental car because an employee either didn't bother to verify inventory before confirming availability or simply told me what I wanted to hear to get me through the door. Either way, it's unacceptable. A simple, honest phone call "the car isn't here yet, but we expect it Thursday" or actually checking when they were asked to would have saved everyone's time and preserved my trust. Instead, I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
Not only is service inept and more concerned about selling you a new car than helping you, but sales staff does not listen and will do everything in their power to juice as much money as possible from you. When asked they magically have no recollection of previous conversations and correspondence. Then try to gaslight you that you are the problem. Nope didn't fall for your crap where you wanted to sell me a vehicle for twice what I wanted to pay monthly. Be warned!!!!! 0 stars if possible. Pissed me off bad enough I have been in touch with GM CEO, head of costumer relations GM corporate, and the corporate customer care.
Excellent service in buying a new car, easy experience during test drive. Car in perfect condition.
