Shore Toyota installed a battery in my family member's car and 2 weeks later returned because they were having a starting issue. it was determined that the battery needed replacing and after replacing the defective battery, they AGAIN charged to replace the battery. I've been in the automotive parts field for more that 40 years and have never heard of being charged twice for labor when the part purchased was installed at the dealership
Horrible Customer Service, Service center is god awful. I Will never get my car serviced at this location again.
Absolutely terrible customer service. I called the service department this morning and once the first advisor "couldn't answer my question", I was forwarded to the voice-mail of another advisor. Left a voice mail asking for a returned phone call and after 1.5 hours I called back and he was the "first available service representative". I have a third party warranty which a previous advisor Colleen had so kindly scanned all the paperwork (while I was in her presence) into their system so I wouldn't have an issue later using said warranty. Now this man claims they do not scan or save any warranty information. Last encounter with the same 2 advisors approximately 1 month ago (Perry and Kevin), our warranty covered the steering rack replacement which was pulled up on the computer in our file. Definitely the 2 worst advisors in the place, ask for anyone but and save yourself a major headache!
Shore Toyota and their service department deserve 7 stars. I had my vehicle towed in with a sudden mechanical problem. No appointment but they were able to evaluate the issue within two hours. Great response, fair pricing, and 100% great A+ care from the service team. Service Manager Roger Wisnewski was attentive and flexible as I made arrangements for follow up service. I am not a big fan of dealer-based service, but Shore Toyota earned my respect and repeat business.
Don’t waste your time with Shore Toyota if your looking for a popular car. Yes, there is a car shortage. Yes, these are not normal times for car shopping and to say buying a popular car right now is difficult is an understatement. Here is our experience with Shore Toyota. Contacted them in March about a Sienna since they are our local dealer. They wanted to charge a few grand over MSRP but they said they would price match a quote we got from a few other dealers at MSRP. So we put down a deposit for a Sienna that would be sold at MSRP. Then we waited… and waited… Meanwhile I watched in a few Sienna Facebook groups and forums as other people got cars allocated from other dealers in much less time and also at MSRP while we continued to wait. In June after 3 months of waiting we started contacting other dealers to get on their wait lists. Strange these other dealers would actually keep in contact with us and provide us updates after each allocation. Meanwhile Shore would maybe call us back a few days after we called for updates and usually we had to call again and again. In July we found a dealer in NY that wasn’t playing games according to other reviews and seemed to be getting decent allocations of Siennas. They also didn’t require a deposit until they actually found you a car. Wouldn’t you know it we got a call from this NY dealer end of September and finally picked up our car a few weeks later. The exact car we had been trying to get from Shore Toyota since March at MSRP and without any required add ons or other BS so common in this sellers market. I don’t know if Shore Toyota actually wasn’t getting allocations of Siennas for some strange internal Toyota reason or if they just had zero intention of honoring the MSRP deal knowing they could sell any Sienna they got for more money. Either way they wasted our time, caused us so much frustration and ultimately lost our business for life. Dealerships should realize that these market conditions won’t last forever, my husband and I will never contact Shore Toyota for a car ever again. We are also making sure all our friends know to steer clear. So if you need a car… Do not waste your time, keep on driving right past Shore Toyota.
I brought my car in for the 5000 mile service. The experience was excellent due to the ease of scheduling, the attentiveness of the service attendant, and the length of the wait time. However, a month after service I received a message in my car that the wiper fluid was low. It makes me wonder if the wiper fluid level was checked and filled. More concerning, it makes me wonder if the other fluid levels were checked.
