I had hands down the best car buying experience I’ve ever had working with Joel Valdez at Barber Honda. I genuinely do not enjoy car shopping, and after getting a completely unreasonable out the door price locally on the Central Coast, I decided to look outside the area. From my very first interaction, Joel stood out. He was responsive, straightforward, and never pushy. Within just a few emails, I had the best pricing and all the information I needed to feel confident moving forward. I ended up driving to Bakersfield, and everything was exactly as promised. Joel greeted me right away, had everything ready, and made the entire process seamless. Joe Gutierrez handled the finance portion and was just as great to work with. Calm, kind, and zero pressure, and he made what is usually the most stressful part feel easy and straightforward. I was fully expecting some kind of last-minute changes or added pressure, but that never happened. No surprises, no upselling, just a genuinely smooth and honest experience from start to finish. I truly appreciated how easy Joel and Joe made this whole process. I would absolutely recommend working with them and would make the drive again without hesitation.
Terrible Service. I went in for an oil change and inspection and they told me after i paid they couldn't check the battery as it was after market, or the rear brake pads because they would have to take the tires off and that would be extra. They didn't bother to check the air filters or spare tire. Will be speaking to the manager next week. Will never go there again and would not recommend. 1 star is too high a rating.
Made an appointment over the phone to get recall taken care of, was told it will take about an hour to do. Have to travel approximately 1 1/2 hours to get there. Got there early, checked in and was told it’ll be all day because there were appointments ahead of me. When asked why did I have to make an appointment if they have others scheduled ahead of me, they told me the appointment is with the service representative, not the mechanic. The service representative isn’t going to do the work. That doesn’t make any sense. Being disabled, the fact I would be sitting around all day there did not appeal to me. So because of their poor communication, I had to leave without getting the repairs done. Paul Nelson
Today August 7, the smog testing facility I took my 2020 CRV car to informed me they were unable to communicate with the vehicle. They suggested taking it to a Honda dealer. I contacted Barber Honda's service department to schedule an appointment. I was told if I come in without an appointment, the car would sit there for 1-1/2 weeks. The first available appointment is in September. I explained that CA DMV requires the vehicle to be registered within 20 days. So that timelime doesn't work. The service response remained the same; bring it in or wait until September. Since this was totally unacceptable, I asked to speak with the service manager. I was transfer to voice mail. Never received a call back. If this is the type of service I can expect from this unsatisfactory Honda dealer, then I should just get rid of this SUV even though I have owned several Hondas over the years. As a side note, Visalia Honda could get me in August 22. Auto Nation Honda Valencia scheduled me for this Thursday, August 10. Both are a 1-1/2 hour drive each way.
Worst service ever took car in for engine knock 11/2021 as of 10/2022 still not fixed after 3 visits
Disgusting dealership service! Don’t know how they’re still standing. I took my son and was looking to pay cash out the door but NO ONE CAME OUT! Byeee
