What Others Say
I will never do business with this Ford dealership again.
I purchased a certified pre-owned 2020 Ford Fusion from them for approximately $23,000 with around 65,000 miles on it. Within the first 10,000 miles of ownership, multiple underbody panels fell off. Then, within only 4 months of owning the vehicle, the transmission completely failed.
When I returned to trade it in, they initially offered me only $10,000 for the vehicle. After nearly 5 hours of arguing, they increased it to $15,000, meaning I still took roughly a $7,500 loss on a vehicle I had barely owned.
At the end of the process, they put me into a Ford Explorer, but because it was already around 9 PM, I was told I could not retrieve my belongings from my Fusion because it was “in service” and they “didn’t have the keys.” I explained that I work out of town 5 days a week and live in Wasilla while the dealership is in Anchorage. I was assured this would not be an issue and that I could come back when I returned from work.
One week later, I drove from Wasilla to Anchorage to retrieve my belongings and was again told they still did not have the keys and I could not access my vehicle. After that, every single week when I returned from work, I called the dealership and was repeatedly told the same thing: the car was still in service and they still did not have the keys.
After TWO MONTHS of this, I finally showed up in person today only to be told the vehicle had already been auctioned off with all of my belongings still inside.
That included a brand new set of subwoofers worth approximately $2,000 along with many other personal belongings.
I was told a manager would contact me. I am still waiting.
At this point, I am seriously considering filing in small claims court. I would not return to this dealership even if they offered free oil changes for life.
If this is how they treat customers after selling them a “certified” vehicle with major mechanical failures, people deserve to know before spending their money here.
The stock- excellent.
Prices- good to excellent
The sales team- OUTSTANDING!
Time spent- they respect your time at the location and throughout the process
ACCOUNTING- They are sub par. I bought 4 /5 vehicles within a 6 week period and ACCOUNTING has “issues” honoring the refer a friend $100 incentive. Feels dishonest and disconnected in my view. The weak link of the operation..? We shall see. Are they inept or just not interested in the overall company mission? We shall see.
I feel sorry for the sales team on location that hustle their hides off “to make it happen.” The customer loyalty incentive dispensed by ACCOUNTING really needs trained on loyalty to the mission.
Such a shame! I would give 6 stars to the fabulous Anchorage Team if I could and 1 to the operational accounting department.
I realize they have bigger worries than respecting the tiny loyalty incentives however, to the customer- it reflects a failure and deviation from the Founder’s beliefs.
So the little things matter as much or more to us lil guys!
I suppose I would be a dum dum to continue buying vehicles from Kendall Ford as an entity unless they FIGURE IT OUT!

Disappointing Experience Despite a Friendly Salesperson
While my salesperson was pleasant and professional, the overall experience with this dealership was disappointing for two key reasons:
Dishonest Pricing Tactic: During the price negotiation, we agreed on a specific additional discount. However, when the updated quote was presented, that discount was not truly added. It was instead absorbed into an already existing discount on the original quote. This resulted in a higher final price than what had been agreed upon, which felt misleading and left me questioning the dealership’s integrity.
Lack of Basic Post-Sale Support: I purchased a used vehicle “as-is” and completed a test drive without any noticeable issues. However, on the drive home, the car began making a loud, concerning squealing noise (later discovered to be a small pebble lodged near the brakes. Simple fix!). I immediately called to see if the dealership would at least take a quick look, given that I had just driven off their lot. Instead, I was flatly told they wouldn’t even inspect it because it was sold “as-is.”
I fully understand what “as-is” means, but I also believe good customer service doesn't end the moment the papers are signed. Had they shown even a small willingness to check the issue, my review would be very different. Instead, their unwillingness to engage left me feeling dismissed and frustrated.
Because of this experience, I don't recommend this dealership to others.
I just purchase a 2024 from Kendall of Anchorage. I worked with Mike, Preston. They listened, did not pressure and were willing to help in any way. This was a great experience. I 100% recommend Mike and Preston.
Here’s a short, impactful, and negative review for DealerRater.com, keeping it sharp and direct while conveying the seriousness of your experience:
⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Horrible Experience, Stay Away!
Our experience with Kendall Ford of Anchorage has been an absolute nightmare. We purchased a 2022 Ford F-350 Diesel in October 2023, only to discover a dangerous safety defect: when in 4WD, the truck violently pulls to the right when braking.
This defect caused an accident with $16,000 in damages. Worse yet, the pre-sale inspection report noted this issue, but Kendall intentionally withheld it for over two months despite repeated requests.
Management has been equally appalling:
• JoMarie Sila (Sales Manager) avoided communication.
• Jeff Toth (General Manager) ignored emails, refused to provide answers, and dodged accountability.
• Grant Olson (Regional Manager) failed to intervene effectively.
Our small family business depends on this truck, and the financial losses exceed $10,000 in verifiable costs, not to mention future insurance impacts and missed business opportunities.
We’ve been met with empty promises, ignored emails, and complete negligence at every level.
If you value honesty, safety, and accountability, STAY AWAY from Kendall Ford of Anchorage. This has been one of the most frustrating and costly experiences of our lives.
Do not trust this dealership.
