What Others Say
I recently attempted to purchase a Lexus SC 430 from this dealership and obtained a Lexus pre-purchase inspection prior to finalizing the deal. The inspection revealed significant front-end and steering issues, including a steering gear problem, worn ball joints, damaged linkage and boots, and power-steering leaks. The technician also noted front-end noise, which directly correlated with these findings.
The dealership was fully aware in advance that I was planning to fly from Texas to pick up the vehicle and drive it back, so I took extra care to ensure the car was mechanically sound before traveling. Despite being presented with a documented Lexus inspection identifying safety-related steering and suspension concerns, the dealership refused to address any of the issues.
I even offered a reasonable compromise—allowing the dealership to perform the repairs themselves and split the cost—but they declined to engage in any solution or price adjustment.
I understand that used vehicles are sold “as-is,” but refusing to acknowledge or discuss documented steering and suspension defects, especially when a buyer is traveling long distance and negotiating in good faith, is disappointing and concerning. I ultimately chose not to proceed with the purchase.
I strongly recommend that prospective buyers obtain an independent inspection and be prepared for the dealership to decline addressing serious mechanical issues, even when clearly documented.
I bought a car from SFT, sight unseen, because the model wasn’t available in my state. My salesman, Wesley, took care of shipping it to me, when other dealers said shipping would be my problem. SFT took responsibility to deliver the car to me as part of the transaction. I got a great price on the car, and the shipping was reasonable.
Supposedly, SF Toyota is a preferred dealer with special pricing through Auto Smart program. Sent online inquiry regarding a specific vehicle from the Auto Smart website through my credit union and printed certificate. Never received any response from SF Toyota. With the online generated paperwork in hand, was told at dealership, “we haven’t participated in that program in years,” and “oh, that’s an old logo on the page.” Needless to say, that was untrue, because it was the exact vehicle I purchased- same VIN, color and trim. So, I would consider anything from SF Toyota listed on this website to be a scam. They will not honor this program once you get inside the dealer door. Either they should STOP listing their vehicles, or honor the program. Beware of their sleazy tactics.
I was coming in from out of town, so I needed to have my information before renting a 1-way vehicle and driving several hours out to SF. Steven answered every question (and I had tons) with such detail and accuracy that he was 100% the deciding factor in choosing this dealership. Anything I required to make my decision was provided immediately and with absolute transparency.
When I arrived to purchase the vehicle there were no surprises. The entire process took maybe an hour, and a lot of that was a test drive and waiting on DMV paperwork. That hour definitely wasn't spent worrying that something would change last minute, instead we got to enjoy the excitement of a new vehicle with no stress.
If you're looking for transparency and straight transaction with no "gimmicks", I HIGHLY recommend San Francisco Toyota!
Completely indifferent attitude. We got a great price on our vehicle but the sales person's attitude was indifferent at best and the "business manager" was downright rude after we refused the extended warranty options. We ended up driven by price, definitely wouldn't have stayed if it was based on service.
