Mallory our sales girl was amazing.. And John Petro the sales manager was very thorough and personable in getting us the exact car we wanted. Mallory went above and beyond even drove 2 hours each way too pick me up when our new car came in!!
I scheduled a service appointment for an oil change six weeks in advance. I received numerous text and email reminders about my upcoming appointment. I arrived for the service a few minutes ahead of my scheduled time. Upon check in, I was told they were "running behind" and it would be 4-1/2 to 5 HOURS before the service (again, an oil change) would be completed. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? YOU COULDN'T SEND A TEXT, OR HAVE SOMEONE CALL, TO ADVISE ME OF THIS RIDICULOUS DELAY!!!??? Never, ever again will I consider taking my vehicle to this dealership for service.
Great service experience. Helped with picking proper service for vehicle and best option for least cost to maintain vehical In a reliable and safe condition. Did not push services not required. Appreciate everything and will return
I have been a happy customer of Stevinson Toyota West since 2009, excluding time of out of state on work assignments for a few years at a time. I loved this dealership and have had several great service advisors including Brian Ballard who has moved on, for reasons unknown to me. On April 7, 2026 I had a negative experience that made me check out their recent reviews. I was shocked to see how many negative Yelp reviews they have incurred.
When I got there, there were 2 vehicles taken into service and I pulled up to the #1 spot. Immediately, a friendly Stevinson Greeter met me and looked for my Service Advisor. My Greeter found out Clayton Fisher was my Service Advisor, notified him several times but it took him 20 mins, for him to get to me.
A simple routine oil change added 2hrs of additional wait time, which had been similar to the last couple of visits, totally unacceptable. I was later told that my skid plate was getting stripped and 3 bolts needed to be retapped and the Tech noted in the report, this needed to be rescheduled. Clayton told me, on my next visit it needed to be done in order to do the oil change but if I wanted to (after being at Stevinson 2 1/2 hrs), it could be done today. It involved an hour of labor, $219.00 plus shop charges and tax. I was upset with the amount of time I waited with plans of other chores I needed to get done today, so I told him we'll do it on the next visit.
I left unhappily, did a couple of errands, headed home and stopped for gas. When I hit my breaks at the Idaho Springs, Phillips 66 gas station the rear of my metal skid plate dropped to the ground and I was unable to drive the vehicle. I immediately called Stevinson and was told all the managers, except for the Sales Mgr had left and my message would be relayed to the Service Mgr and I would receive a call back tomorrow. Signing up for AAA cost me $81.50 and an additional $60 was required for the tow home. I had to wait 2 hrs, 45 mins for their only tow truck who had a delivery up in Erie, CO.
The next morning, after cancelling my April 8 Cardiology medical appointment, I called and left an urgent message for the Service Mgr. Mr. Michael Hasman, Assistant Service Mgr called me back 48 mins later after reviewing the situation with Clayton Fisher, the Service Advisor, who apparently falsified (lied about) the situation, and Mr. Hasman stated, Clayton said it needed to be done today. I told Mr. Hasman over and over again, this was not true and he told me it needed to be done at the time of my next service but I could do it today if I had the time. Mr. Hasman stated, well that's not what Clayton said and used a legal term stating, "that's hearsay" and this is on you for not getting the repair done.
Being 72 yrs old, unable to comfortably crawl under the vehicle, my landlord strapped up the hanging skid plate and I drove the vehicle to Mountain View Garage in Idaho Springs where 2 senior mechanics with 16-20 yrs experience each, completed the work in half an hour for $100, instead of the needed full hour at Stevinson with a total cost of at least $240 with tax. What I learned from them is these dealer Techs using power tools strip the bolts with no need of overtightening bolts that are going into thin metal. Additionally, out of the 4 clips required to hold the skid plate up, only one clip was present. The 2 rear bolts were not threaded into the correct position on the skid plate and not supporting the skid plate and not supporting the skid plate.
So, the Stevinson Toyota Tech did not replace the skid plate correctly, not putting in the required pins and securing the bolts in the correct positions costing me $141.50 in towing charges, over 2 1/2 hrs at Stevinson, an additional 2 hrs, 45 min wait time for my tow truck and an additional half hour repair time. Mountainview Garage in Idaho Springs said that Stevinson Toyota could contact them.
With all the recent additional negative reviews, you may want to avoid using Stevinson.
Never went over truck features
Came with crap tires and they told me they had 60% life
tried to cancel 2800.00 insurance through email like they asked cause I didn’t want it and they never got nothing back to me
I was advised the 20k service would take approximately two hours. Due to an unexpected battery issue, the service ultimately took longer, which I understand. The concern was the lack of proactive communication regarding the delay. I was not notified as the timeline changed, and this has been a recurring issue during previous visits. Clearer communication would significantly improve the customer experience.
