What Others Say

I’ve purchased over 7 vehicles from Campbell Nelson VW over the years, thinking I had built a trusting relationship with a dealership that values its customers. Unfortunately, my latest experience has shown me that loyalty and repeat business mean very little here. Less than 30 days after purchasing a $38,000 vehicle from them, I was hit with a $3,700 repair bill due to the heater failing — something that absolutely should not happen this soon with a “new” car. When I reached out to the owner, Craig Campbell, hoping for help or even a conversation, I was completely brushed off. It felt like my concerns didn’t matter and my years of business meant nothing. To add insult to injury, before this purchase, I traded in my VW ID.4 — a vehicle I originally bought from them for around $30,000 with no trade-in — and they only offered me $15,000 on trade-in value. That’s a huge loss in such a short time, and it really stung, but I went ahead with the purchase expecting good service in return. Now, with this sudden and costly repair, I feel taken advantage of. I wasn’t asking for a free ride — I even offered to split the cost of repairs — but that was ignored too. Instead, I was met with indifference from someone I expected better from. It’s become clear that profit comes before people at this dealership. I’ll be sharing my experience on every platform I can — not out of spite, but to warn others. I trusted this business with thousands of dollars over the years, and now I feel completely let down. If you’re thinking about buying from Campbell Nelson VW, I strongly encourage you to read the reviews, ask hard questions, and be cautious. This dealership did not stand by me when it mattered most. Until Craig Campbell and his team take accountability and make this right, I will not be doing business with them again.

After going through bankruptcy and working hard to get a fresh start, I needed a vehicle and was overwhelmed by tons of flyers and calls from dealerships saying they could help people in my situation. I chose Campbell Nelson VW because I had a good experience with them in the past — but this time, it was completely different. I was contacted constantly by their special finance managers, Mike and Dok, who promised they could get me a great deal. After about a month of back-and-forth, I finally gave in and went to talk numbers. Mike told me it was the only approval available, and I agreed, thinking I was making a smart choice. But a few days later, Mike called again to say he was passing on a $3,000+ fee from CPS (the lender) to me — a fee the dealership gets charged for selling the contract. I found out later from CPS that this fee should NEVER have been passed onto me or even discussed with me. So, what started as a “good deal” quickly turned into a horrible one. Just four months after purchasing the car, I’m now over $10,000 upside down. I spoke with CPS, and they were very clear that what the dealership did was not standard or ethical. To make it worse, Mike and Dok completely dismissed my concerns. Dok told me to talk to Mike, and Mike said, “I’m a dealership selling cars, that’s my job.” I bought the car for over $30,000, and now they’re offering me $17,000 — just four months later. The value didn’t just drop — I was overcharged from day one. Mike and Dok don’t care about helping people. They care about profit and numbers. They prey on people like me, trying to rebuild after bankruptcy. I would NEVER refer anyone to them or Campbell Nelson VW again. This dealership has changed — and not for the better. I’ll be posting the full text conversations between me and Mike/Dok to show how they operated. This kind of behavior needs to be exposed. If you’re coming out of bankruptcy or in a tough financial spot, stay far away from this place. They’ll smile, promise the world, and leave you in a worse situation than where you started.

1) INSULTING = Low trade-in offer with a $34,000 purchase = I could get $2000 More from Dealers that I was NOT buying from !!! 2) DISHONEST = The Front & Rear bottom engine skid plates were either Missing or Damaged beyond repair with "broken off" bolts, which they had to KNOW, because they "Changed The Oil", which I could NOT see & COST ME $600 to Repair & Replace !!! 3) INCOMPETENT = "THREE WEEKS", after the sale, Nobody knew WHERE any of my Credit Union or Insurance paperwork was, INCLUDING the CredIt Union, that was Waiting on Them !!! 4) STAY AWAY FROM HERE !!!

I just purchased a Leaf. I had no experience with or knowledge about electric cars. Johnny Lamm was so helpful, answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease. This was a very easy car buying experience.
