What Others Say

On January 30, 2023 I bought a Chevy Cruze sedan 2017 and at the Brown's Ford dealership in Johnstown. NY. Now I only have the car for only 3yrs , now my engine went bad and this Brown's Ford dealership sold me a lemon car. I bought a Chevy Malibu 2013 in Albany, NY at car Max and had that car for 4yrs and no engine problems at all .. this dealership sold me a lemon Chevy Cruze sedan 2017. Then I test drove a Chevy Malibu 2024 with my son and the front brakes , back brakes were scraping, the four tires were making loud noises and the car kept on jerking back and forth and they had to charge the car battery and so I can test drive the lemon car 2024 Malibu and the sales person told me, my son TJ that the car has not been worked on at all , just was sitting on the car lot for a long time.

They failed my horse trailer inspection saying lights didn't work and it was going to cost over $500 to fix. I checked all the lights myself before leaving home and they did work. I showed them they did work and then they passed it. I understand that dealerships don't make anything on inspections but don't lie and come up with bogus repairs to make more money. Auto dealers and salesmen are already not trusted. Wonder why? Alot of underhanded things happen in a service department to make more money. It's not worth their reputation - and more people will talk about a bad experience than a good one!!

My family and I have bought several vehicles there and thought we were buying a vehicle from a reputable dealer. At this point I am very dissatisfied with the dealer and the service they have provided. I bought a used 2020 F250 from them this time last year. When I took it off the lot, I had to bring it back the next day because the horn didn’t work (not sure how it passed inspection). They fixed the horn and I started driving the truck again. When driving the truck I started noticing it would slam into gear at times going from 3rd to 4th gear. I had to bring it to the shop 3 different times and finally drive a mechanic around for them to see what I was talking about. They had to put a new transmission in my truck. While I was there I asked about a couple of things I noticed. The gears in the driver side door when locking and unlocking would grind. I could also tell my brakes needed to be done. They kept my truck for over a month before I finally got it bake. They replaced - transmission - Brakes and rotors - Horn - Locking actuator in driver side door This truck is not my daily driver. I only use it to haul my horse trailer with. I drove it throughout the summer and it was good. Then comes winter and I get a code that comes up on the truck that says service charging system. Had the batteries tested and came back saying the batteries needed to be replaced. Replaced both batteries and code still appeared. While trying to figure out the charging system, now my A/C stopped working. Took my truck into ford and got a call today saying my alternator, air compressor and tie rods need to be replaced (it won’t pass inspection now with the tie rods). Coming to a total of $5,000 in repairs. Owner has offered to cover $800 to try and “make it right”. Meanwhile I have only put 10,000 miles on the truck. I am a highly dissatisfied customer now and I can’t recommend anyone buying or servicing their vehicle at Browns Ford in Johnstown .

They all are friendly, good communication, and great service. I used them for my vehicles for over 14yrs.

They are familiar with my vehicle's service history, and perform the service I am there for, such as oil changes, inspections, etc., quickly and correctly.

Appreciate the quick, easy transaction, especially since I was out of state. Good communication and providing transportation from the airport to the dealership. Everyone was terrific and made it a great experience.
