Introduction
Exterior Styling - 8
Unlike the foxbodys the styling look blanded and tamed. Now with the SN95 we have a slicker more of a untamed look. Spoiler-less at a side angle looks like a one bad mother.
Interior Styling - 4
Exterior Build/Materials Quality - 4
The hood may be the strongest of all the exterior panels. What is it? Plastic? While the front fenders feel like tin, lay your finger on one and you have a dent to pop out. The spoiler will eventually loosen up and leaks.
Interior Build/Materials Quality - 2
Paint on the dash has chipped and/or faded. Stock sound system is weak as they come, you might as well throw the radio along with speakers out the door. The gear shift frame comes detached which will cause problems. Carpet color shows every spec of dirt.
Engine Performance - 5
127 rear wheel horsepower with 187 rear wheel torque. Responds to mods quite well, dual exhaust with drop in air filter 133+ horsepower.
Handling/Braking - 4
Braking with a used sn95 is hit or a miss. I found out the hard way i didn't have Anti-lock brakes. The brake system for the v6 is weak, do yourself a favor and upgrade to the cobra system.
Handling is even worse. Steering is stiff, no traction control, can you say ditch line on a barely wet road? Is it all the torque? On dry roads taking a curve around 50 mph feels like the rear end is going to slide around to meet you. Look out for bumps, feel even the crack in the road.
Fuel Efficiency - 5
Alot of people will argue that single ports ( 94 to 98 v6 mustang ) are to hard on gas. Why? Its all in their head with rising gas prices of course people are gonna say that this or that car is hard on gas! Let off the gas and your mileage will improve. But my o2 sensors are shot and not to mention the terrible spark plugs.
Available Features/Options - 1
None other than spoiler-less or ABS
Cost of Ownership - 5
You can buy one cheap, but the cost of maintaining one is where your money is going, or is it? With the mustang in particular you will most likely get a bad batch one. Always take a mechinac with you.
Value - 3
1994 rebuilt title as of 09 the value is $590.
Conclusion
If you own one you know what im ranting about with all the mustang logos inside and outside. And yet passengers dare ask what it is. HA! 127 stock rwhp enough to suit your new comer to the rwd class, but disappointing when downshifting and proceed to wot ( wide open throttle ). 5th to 4th is dead, driver has to shift further down to 3rd or even yet 2nd. A kid on a bike will smoke you off the line in 1st gear. Though the major problem is the weak 3.8 engine. Mine hasn't ran right yet. Misses downlow and idling. Upgrade to a split port and the suspension to be even taken serious. But don't get me wrong, you can still smoke todays ricers.
