Disappointing Experience Despite a Friendly Salesperson
While my salesperson was pleasant and professional, the overall experience with this dealership was disappointing for two key reasons:
Dishonest Pricing Tactic: During the price negotiation, we agreed on a specific additional discount. However, when the updated quote was presented, that discount was not truly added. It was instead absorbed into an already existing discount on the original quote. This resulted in a higher final price than what had been agreed upon, which felt misleading and left me questioning the dealership’s integrity.
Lack of Basic Post-Sale Support: I purchased a used vehicle “as-is” and completed a test drive without any noticeable issues. However, on the drive home, the car began making a loud, concerning squealing noise (later discovered to be a small pebble lodged near the brakes. Simple fix!). I immediately called to see if the dealership would at least take a quick look, given that I had just driven off their lot. Instead, I was flatly told they wouldn’t even inspect it because it was sold “as-is.”
I fully understand what “as-is” means, but I also believe good customer service doesn't end the moment the papers are signed. Had they shown even a small willingness to check the issue, my review would be very different. Instead, their unwillingness to engage left me feeling dismissed and frustrated.
Because of this experience, I don't recommend this dealership to others.
I just purchase a 2024 from Kendall of Anchorage. I worked with Mike, Preston. They listened, did not pressure and were willing to help in any way. This was a great experience. I 100% recommend Mike and Preston.
Here’s a short, impactful, and negative review for DealerRater.com, keeping it sharp and direct while conveying the seriousness of your experience:
⭐ 1 Star – Absolutely Horrible Experience, Stay Away!
Our experience with Kendall Ford of Anchorage has been an absolute nightmare. We purchased a 2022 Ford F-350 Diesel in October 2023, only to discover a dangerous safety defect: when in 4WD, the truck violently pulls to the right when braking.
This defect caused an accident with $16,000 in damages. Worse yet, the pre-sale inspection report noted this issue, but Kendall intentionally withheld it for over two months despite repeated requests.
Management has been equally appalling:
• JoMarie Sila (Sales Manager) avoided communication.
• Jeff Toth (General Manager) ignored emails, refused to provide answers, and dodged accountability.
• Grant Olson (Regional Manager) failed to intervene effectively.
Our small family business depends on this truck, and the financial losses exceed $10,000 in verifiable costs, not to mention future insurance impacts and missed business opportunities.
We’ve been met with empty promises, ignored emails, and complete negligence at every level.
If you value honesty, safety, and accountability, STAY AWAY from Kendall Ford of Anchorage. This has been one of the most frustrating and costly experiences of our lives.
Do not trust this dealership.
I'm contacting you because I'm very concerned about the Ford Bronco Sport and the situation I'm now in again with a broken down Ford Bronco that was sold to me from Kendall Ford of Anchorage. I bought my first Ford Bronco Sport in July this year and it had a powertrain malfunction in September with less than 4,000 miles on it. I was terrified when I was pulling off the highway and my bronco decelerated and died. I got my vehicle towed to Kendall Ford of Anchorage. The staff at the dealership were not helpful in getting me a rental car or assuring me my car was going to be fixed in a timely manner. I could not wait to get my vehicle fixed. I have a job that I need to go to pay for my very expensive vehicle. I instructed the dealership to buy back my vehicle so I could move on a get another ford bronco. They bought back my ford bronco and I bought another ford bronco in September. This Tuesday my new ford bronco broke down due to a powertrain malfunction. I'm in shock this even happened at 1,600 miles on my vehicle and shocked I'm in the same situation I was in September. I want a SAFE RELABEL VEHICLE. This is so beyond frustrating and disturbing to me that my second ford bronco broke down. I've been on the phone the last couple days with the dealership and no one is helpful per the situation I'm in again for a second time. No rental cars available until my car has a diagnostic. Are you kidding me??? I need a working vehicle so I can go to work and pay for my very expensive vehicle. Kendall Ford of Anchorage Service Manager gave me a lecture on how I need to find a way to get to and from work. I quote her "it's not our fault that your vehicle broke down, it wasn't manufactured here". She is extremely rude and not helpful at all. I need Kendall Ford of Anchorage and Ford to take ownership of this situation and fix it ASAP. I'm making a formal complaint with the State of Alaska Motor Vehicle Commission. I need help please. Thank you for your time.
I received a safety recall from Ford. Kendall Ford of ANC said the earliest date available was 2 months out. When I finally got it in for the recall work (transmission reprogrammed), the next day it started downshifting into 1st gear very hard and with a klunk. I called to get it back in I was told I was #30 in line for transmission work ant it could be up to 30 days before they can get me back in.
The employees are very nice and apologetic but there is an obvious problem in the service department.
