My Review of A Crivelli Chevrolet Inc:
The A. Crivelli Subaru Chevrolet dealership held our vehicle and license plate hostage for five days. Intending to trade our vehicle on a used car, we realized we were being lied to about the car’s features. The salesman, Jack Nageotte, apologized and profusely offered to “cancel the order”. When we wanted to do so, two managers- Steve Vidovich and Tim Hall, began screaming, threatening, and disrespecting us. We had looked at a car on another lot, which they then acquired and informed us we would have to buy from them, but we were “leaving with one of them”, and demanded we sign loan papers with them. We walked out, leaving our trade vehicle there as they had illegally taken our license plate. Justified after having the paperwork reviewed by our attorney and two independent GM’s of dealerships, we again insisted to have our vehicle and license plate returned. Tim Hall refused and told us to leave their property or he would call the police. We called the police. When an officer arrived, Mr. Hall lied to him, claiming we had a binding contract, and then left the lot. We had put no money down, nor signed over any title, and the paperwork stated in bold letters, “THIS ORDER IS NOT A BINDING CONTRACT” directly before my husband’s signature. When confronted by the police, the managers again lied then threatened to have the vehicle, they claimed we owned, towed and stored at our expense. When asked to show in writing where we had a binding contract, Mr. Vidovich bellowed, “BRING ME THE MONEY!” When served in writing that we were not buying the vehicle, Mr. Vidovich crumpled it and yelled, “I didn’t read it!” in front of an officer. When we faxed it they threatened harassment. When a notarized letter was faxed the next day, Steve Vidovich called the notary, screaming and threatening her with harassment charges.
This bizarre nightmare finally ended when we said the words, “Attorney General, Consumer Protection, DMV, and Vehicle Fraud Unit.” Suddenly, our trade belonged to us after all.
