My Review of ABC Nissan:
Monday, Aug. 24th, 2009, I visited ABC Nissan to speak with the internet sales manager Greg Rivers about the potential of buying a vehicle. Greg had been running numbers on other vehicles, and unfortunately nothing seemed to work for my family's taste. Greg asked me to come down to the lot to see what else they had to offer. Unfortunately, Greg was busy with another customer when I arrived, so I was introduced to a salesman by the name of Eddy. Eddy and I came across a Hummer H3 that was definitely a good fit for my family. He was extremely helpful, and the situation was looking promising. We took it for a test drive, and began running numbers on the vehicle to see if we could make it work. Eddy was extremely patient and understanding of the situation, and made a great effort to try and find my family financing. We debated numbers back and forth as usual, and it looked like we were getting close to an agreement. Unfortunately, his boss Mike Voss, the assistant director of the internet and fleet sales department decided to get involved in the process, and ruined the whole deal. This guy came into the situation not having spoken with me once, and decided that he was going to run the deal, and only he could make any decisions because he knew it all. He came in with an overly agressive attitude, and appeared irritated like I had done something wrong, and began demanding an extremely high down payment that was no where near what I had discussed with Eddy the salesman. He rudely informed me that this was because the dealership was "into the vehicle for so much money." I proceeded to tell Mr. Voss that I didn't like the idea of such a high down payment, and that I could go somewhere else and find a better deal, besides the fact that it was not my fault that they paid so much for the vehicle. Maybe they should have been asking more for it since they carried such a high debt on it!! Unfortunately, Mr. Voss did not like what I had to say, and he literally began to throw a tantrum like a child. He did not even let me counter the offer he was making! He leaned in toward me and scowled that it did not matter where I went because he used the same banks as all other dealers, and he was the only one who could get me a somewhat lower interest rate. Now, I am not one for close quarters, but it felt like Mr. Voss was directly in my face at this point. I began to feel my blood pressure rising, and the adrenaline starting to kick in as if I were getting ready for a fight. However, despite the level of discomfort now brewing, I was extremely interested in this Hummer, and my problem was not even the interest rate, it was the down payment that he was demanding! If he would have listened to me instead of running his mouth and making demands,he would have understood that I was willing to negotiate a fair deal for both parties! Mr. Voss continued to berate me with the lessons of car sales, and I could not begin to figure out where this guy was going with the arguement. It was as if he was trying to provoke me. I can honestly state that we were no longer arguing numbers on the vehicle!! At this point, I informed Mr. Voss that he needed to back off, that I did not appreciate his aggressiveness, and that his behavior was highly unprofessional. I also stated that I needed to speak with someone else besides him, due to the fact that he was being so aggressive. I proceeded to tell Mr. Voss that up until the point where he rudely tried to take over the deal, everything had been going smoothly. Immediately, he yelled at Eddy the salesman and demanded that they were done with me and leaving. I did not know what to think, because the situation had gotten so out of hand and confusing. I did not know if I was there to buy a car or step into the ring and fight with this man. I could feel the tension building rapidly, and everyone around us had stopped what they were doing to watch the upcoming fight. Luckily, he finally walked away to his office where I could see him playing the role of the big man laughing with the other ABC staff about how he handled me. Regardless, I was there to buy a vehicle, and it never happened because of an angry little man named Mike Voss who is apparently God's gift to the car sales industry!! Before I left, I requested Greg Rivers back at the front desk, so I could speak with him about the problem. Greg did come out to speak with me, and stated that "Mike had no business coming out to work with the sale, since he was not a finance person or the one handling the deal." I informed Greg that I was still interested in teh Hummer, and we could talk about it as long as Mike Voss was not a part of the deal. However, I still have not heard back nor do I expect to since Mike is the assistant director of internet and fleet sales. I am sure that I have been black listed by ABC Nissan. NO BOTHER TO ME THOUGH!! I'll find a dealer who is actually in the business of selling cars rather than provoking customers!! DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP UNLESS YOU ARE READY FOR A FIGHT!!!!! BRING YOUR BOXING GLOVES!!!!!
