My Review of Assael BMW:
I bought my Mini Cooper over one month ago. There were no floor mats in the car. My sales rep, Roger, stated he would FedEx my floor mats to me, as I was leaving to go out of town the next day. Over a month and a dozen calls later, I still have no floor mats. I have left messages both for Roger and his manager, and they do not return calls. Further, my sales rep left me sitting in front of the finance department with no explanation to the staff there as to why I was there, or that I was sitting there waiting at all. As a result, I sat there for 40+ minutes until someone asked me if I was being helped. When I said no, she was kind enough to help me. However, my sales rep had not completed my file, and so he had to be paged several times before bringing the paperwork, which was incomplete. Overall, I'm afraid my experience was not and continues not to be positive. Luckily, I love my Mini Cooper S despite my very underwhelming experience.

My Review of Assael BMW:
I had my car in for a simple oil change service. The lady who assist me named Maria acted like if she is doing me a favor the whole time, no greetings, not a SIMPLE THANK YOU! The service usually takes about 2 hrs to finish. I waited 9 hrs for the car to be done. NOT only that, the service associate lady didn't even call me to let me know what is going on. I had to call her myself for the status of the vehicle. I even had to call several times, since she is either not picking up or with a guest. By the time I finally reached her, they are almost CLOSED!! I had to rush myself to the dealership to get my car.
Here is the worst thing, when I got my car, I noticed mileage is different. Mileage in 16344, mileage out 16358. But the paper work saids
mileage out is 16345, 13 miles differences. Obviously ppl who work there took my car for a "joyride". I understand if they had to drive my car out for tests after service, but for 13 miles? (which I doubt it, since its only a oil change) I guess they not only test drive my car but also had lunch somewhere too.

Assael sold me a BMW Z4 8 months ago that does not have a clean title, They will not do anything about it. I can't drive the car because it is not in my name. I have now had to get a Lawyer. This car dealer is a rip off and this is against the law to sell a car with a unclean title.

My Review of Assael BMW:
I went to this dealership with my friend. Both of us were interested in the 08 335i. The sales man acted like he was doing us a favor and was very reluctant to get the key for us to look inside. He told us test drive is only for serious buyers and since we are not buying today, he'll just explain about the price structure and option package to us. Well, I pretty much know everything he has to say because I already did tons of research online. We also made it clear to him, both of us are in the market for a new car and there is a good chance each of us will endup buying a BMW.

He finally agree to let us do a test drive but told us only one person will be able to drive. According to him, he don't want us to go out for a joyride. I finally have enough. I told him to follow us back to the showroom and explain to his manager how he manage to piss off two potential buyers within minuts. He started to back track himself and say we misunderstood him. At this point I have no interest doing business with this dealer what so ever so me and my friend just walk off the lot. I probably could have cuss out the manager and made a scene but that's just not my style.

For the record, we visited three other dealers that day. Testdrove two Saab(symes), a Acura(Sierra), and the BMW 335i(New Century). All the sales men we encouter were professional, courteous and knowledgable. For my money the 335i is best by far. If you are in the market for that price segment, it make no sense to get anything else. Just stay away from Asseal.

My Review of Assael BMW:
Brought my MINI in for an oil change and rear brake change, the next day the engine compartment catches fire which the Fire Department had to extinguish. I contacted the Service Manager many times and still have not heard back from him, and my car still sits at the shop after 4 weeks.

The forensics inspection verified the power steering pump failed and caused the fire. Which also damaged the main wiring harness and battery. My insurance has agreed to pay for the repair, but my car cannot be released until full payment from insurance is received.

I also requested to keep the damaged parts, which I was later informed it is going to cost me an extra $60 ("Core Cost") to keep MY damaged parts. The insurance adjuster also expressed the service departments lack of quality, further supporting suspicions about Assael's poor level of work environment.

It is one lie after another. I recall the day I dropped my car off for the oil change and brake repair, one of the mechanics inquired if my car was still under warranty (which it is not).

My insurance adjust and foresics inspector had to wait over an hour before they were brought back to my car so they could assess the damages.

I have also filed complaints with the BMW headquarters and the Better Business Bureau to warn people of this poor business. Would hate for anyone to go through such a horrible experience! WARNING! Do NOT go to this dealer!

Highly recommend Southbay BMW or Long Beach BMW!

My Review of Assael BMW:
I was afraid to go there after seeing so many bad reviews on this website. But the people who work in service (on the MINI side, at least) were extremely friendly but professional.
I had a very minor repair necessary for my MINI. They fixed it in one day and gave it a free wash.
I would have given all "5"s except they do not provide loaners nor pickup for MINI customers.
This was late June 07. I was told that they had just been taken over by new owners...

My Review of Assael BMW:
Customer Service - A joke, sales rep acted as if I owed him something. Seemed to take all of his effort simply to retrieve the keys to open the car for my mother and I to take a look

Quality of Work - He knew what he was talking about...most of the time.

Friendliness - A joke, see customer service. Said he was in the business for 30 years and didn't want to play any games and not to waste his time...right off the bat...wtf?

Experience - Very, very bad aftertaste.

Pricing - Again, when we sat down to negotiate a price, he repeated that he doesn't play games etc. Wouldn't budge on price, was only $500 off MSRP.

My Review of Assael BMW:
(1) I asked when did the maintainence contract ended, I was told the day after the contract ended. (2) Repairs were recommended and when I asked if they were covered under the extended warranty, I was told no, I took the car to a reputable repair shop, and each repair was covered. This was the second time I was told the warranty did not cover recommended repairs.

I just need a fax for certificate. When I call, they always direct me to the mailbox. Have been calling and left messages in his mailbox to return my call for over a month and I never get contact.
I've visited for the services and my history of service was messed up and this representative doesn't want to correct it.

My Review of Assael BMW:
First of all, would I recommend this dealership? It should have an option for HELL NO! this dealership is so messed up that it would be impossible to fix.

Sales - All the sales employees are assholes, with the exception of a few. I went to visit a friend that used to work there (This person hated the job so much that she/he quit after being there for just 1 month). While I was waiting I went to check out the BMWs in the main showroom and all the sales employees were standing around with no customers. A newlywed couple comes walking in waiting to be helped. They continue to wait for 45 minutes while all the employees are simply staring at them...doing nothing. They ask one of the sales managers a couple of questions and all he does is page for a salesman to come to the showroom. Needless to say, he pages 4 more times and still nobody comes to help them out (even though they're ALL just sitting there doing NOTHING). The young couple walks out of the showroom very mad and is then approached by a rude and condescending salesman. That's just sales!

Receptionists/Cashiers - Well I'm not going to lie, they are attractive and can be nice sometimes....but they're all completely brain dead. A few are part time strippers at local clubs and the others are in or just graduating from highschool. If you call and ask to speak to a service advisor or an employee that works at the dealership, don't be surprised to get either the wrong person or to directed to voicemail right away...they are that stupid. To them it's easier to give you the wrong person than for them to take 7 seconds to page someone or transfer the call correctly. If you do call and give a message to the receptionist/cashier don't be surprised to not get a call back anytime soon. 97% of the time they can't remember what happened 5 seconds ago or are simply too lazy to give the message to the appropriate person...or they leave them on the desk and the service advisors receive the messages a couple days later.

My Review of Assael BMW:
5 months ago I was driving my BMW when the oil light came on. I went to nearest dealer...assael. I was greeted by young man and was told that I have to schedule appointment but he would see if they could squeeze me in! I was getting coffee from machine and cashier told me I HAVE to schedule appointment because it was too crowded. I waited 10 minutes and was asked by another person (kenon miles) if I had been helped. I told him my problem and he asked where my car was and saw the oil light that was on. He walked me back to the lounge, went to parts, and filled my car up with oil. When we got to car he explained to me problem and how to fill oil. I waited for first person to see his name, but he never showed again. I cant know how long I wait if kenon didn't help me. He is greeter.
Thank you

My Review of Assael BMW:
On the afternoon of Sunday, September 18, 2005, my friend and I went to test drive a 330i at Assael BMW in Monrovia. The salesperson that "helped" us was very rude and condescending (I wish I would've asked for his card). My friend has been to the same dealership several times before this and was also met with unacceptable customer service.

The salesman did not treat us with respect. I must say Assael is absolutely the worst dealership I have been to. I wonder how they sell any cars with such bad service. I'm trying to contact BMW USA to complain also.

Our experience at New Century BMW was much more pleasant and I will be order my car through them.

My Review of Assael BMW:
While looking for another car,I recently discovered this web site. So, I have to let you know AVOID ASSael BMW.

I work nearby ASSael BMW, so, I went in for service. After waiting for 10 minutes without anyone offering to help, I asked a man inside if I can get my car serviced or setup an app't. He asked me what kind of service. I said 30,000 mile svc. He told me I will need to setup up an app't. for next week Wednesday. Today was Tuesday. I relunctantly setup an app't for next week Wed.

The following week, I received a phone call, that I would need to bring my car in on Thursday because they overbooked Wed and they apologize. I could not believe it. I already waited 6 days for service and I was 150 miles overdue for service.

The following day I went to New Century BMW in Alhambra 13 miles from my work and I was able to get my service done the same day.

By all means avoid ASSael and goto New Century. However, avoid John Velarde at New Century, he doesn't care about you unless you are female showing some leg and/or cleavage.

My Review of Assael BMW:
Their contempt for their customers knows no bounds. This is not only the worst BMW dealer I have ever encountered, it is the worst car dealer of any kind I have ever experienced. So far, I have been there three times to take care of a problem that should have been taken care of on the first visit. The problem is still not fixed. I will be stuck going back there a fourth time. I feel like I am being punished by God...

Stepping into the service area is like stepping into the twilight zone. They appear to have no concept of customer service. There are notes posted all over the place. "Don't touch [this]." "Customer Education: Who qualifies for a service loaner?" "It is very important that we receive a 5 in all categories." All this while it takes weeks to get an appointment, the service advisors are rude and incompetent, and the service manager has a take-it-or-leave-it attitude.

One bright spot though. The female service advisors (who seem to feel free to be openly rude to the customers), dress in an a manner more appropriate for a strip bar than a car dealership. Low cut tops, mini skirts, and stilletto heels prevail. Possibly they have recruited the former service manager from the Spearmint Rhino? AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

My Review of Assael BMW:
It is not surprising why people call Assael BMW "Asshole" BMW. In a word they suck. My one and only service visit to them took two days and more blood, sweat and tears than passing a kidney stone. The bill was just short of the cost of a new NASA space shuttle. I drove home without inspecting all the work at the dealership itself, as I usually do, and discovered that they even forgot to reinstall a part! Not some small item mind you, but the HUGE plastic cover to the radiator assembly on an E36! Of course I called immediately and complained. They said to bring it in the next day. Sure, why not, since they had the car for two solid days (which I'm sure was worked on for the ENTIRE two days! Yeah right), what's another day, or even a week??? The next day, a wonderful argument with the service RETARD (far from an advisor) who agreed that they had the part in question off during the service but highly doubted they forgot to replace it and I would be billed for it. Okay guys, I give in, I admit it, you figured out my brilliant money making scam of breaking my BMW, taking it to a dealer and leaving it for 2 days, bringing it home to remove the radiator cover, and then complaining of missing the cover!

In the end, I didn't pay for the cover. They replaced it and I drove the car home. A few days later I was checking the oil and noticed that the 4 screws and push-pins used to mount the cover were all different! EXCELLENT quality work guys! Factory trained by Yugo of America I'm sure.

Never again. On par with Crevier (overpriced and not customer friendly) and close to Bob Smith (worst in the universe).

My Review of Assael BMW:
I had bad experience with their service dept. I changed oil every 5K miles. The first time they charged me 60 dollars, the second time i went there, they charged me 110 dollars for the same oil change service. Since it was my mom who picked up the car the second time, she paid that amount. I called and asked for an explanation, and they told me to come back and reimbursed the amount. However when I was there, they said that they never mentioned anything regarding to the refund and that I must had heard it wrong or something. From then on, I haven't put my foot in to their dealership.

My Review of Assael BMW:
Had bought an '02 X5 there with no problems, got great service during & closing the sale. However afterwards is when the nightmare began! Their parts dept doesn't know much about add on BMW parts - had to make 3 trips to get the right parts kit for a CPT 8000 phone system. Their service dept can't find a hole from a ground - made multiple trips to find out that there was a wiring plug behind the radio that was disconnected causing no audio from the CPT 8000 phone system. Then there was a burglary over the weekend and my phone disappeared while my X5 was in their service dept! No one would say anything at first and I had to file a police report for the missing phone & accessories. Later, the service manager came out and admitted there was a burglary & never received an apology or any compensation - treated me like nothing. The service dept wouldn't change the air filter because it wasn't at 30k miles! Dirty, dusty, and smoggy Los Angeles clogged the air filter at 15k miles but they wouldn't change out a $14 part! No BMW loaners - never got one for the 2 warranty issues.
The customer relations: Ann Sitter Dorsey is useless - just agrees with the dealership - never trying to see from the customer perspective. Won't ever go to Assael anymore!
I found New Century in Alhambra and Crevier in Santa Ana the best !
