The thing is a complete scam. Same as all have mentioned getting call from Nat Carter he leaving a voicemail with return number giving the Longwood INC. speal. I am glad i did the research..Thanks for all who had left there expirences with this fraudulant company...i was going to use them just cause i need to move on this truck so i can finish up and move on with my life...if I would have trusted in these people who have no integrity I would not have been out of the 149.00 the truck would be sitting waiting for something to happen cause I would have moved on to other items seeing how I was promised they were taking care of it.,., Again Thanks Everyone, Excluding LONGWOOD INC. you preople need help! I placed my ad on CL this past Sunday 12/11/11. Tuesday morning I received the same message left on my voicemail from Matt Carter - "glad he found me, for a small fee, clients lined up, guaranteed results" morning I received the same message left on my voicemail from Matt Carter - "glad he found me, for a small fee, clients lined up, guaranteed results" yadda yadda. I live in Santa Barbara, CA. My ad clearly stated locals, serious, cash only. xxx is someone from Florida calling me for anyway - even IF he was legit?! Also, it does violate craigslist policy as I had the box checked that I didn't want to be contacted from businesses, etc. Again, even IF it was legit they certainly aren't ethical. I don't know if this is a scam or not but I am not going to waste my time, energy and money to find out! CL works - just be patient. I have bought and sold several cars through that format. I just got a call from a Mister Matt Carter of Longwood Inc., my phone didn't ring or anything but magically I had a voicemail so I figured I might as well listen to it, and I must say what a joke. Saying he could sell my '79 Chevy that I had just listed on Kijiji yesterday, and was polite in his voicemail but thats how they get ya, acting nice. So I figured I'd call em back and do a little research myself and what do ya know he's busy but his assistant (whom remained nameless) said she'd help me, and oh we can do this and that and blah blah blah, and at the end "it'll only cost you a small fee to your credit card of $199 but if you pay before tonight you can pay $99 and if we don't sell it for you and you sell it before us we'll give you like an 80% refund, yadda yadda yadda" so I said fine I'll call ya back later I'm busy, figured I'd do a little homework on the company and ended up finding tons upon tons of bad news about them so thankfully I trusted my gut and research them and figured this out. Thank you to everyone that posts their stories and keep fighting the good fight, I've been in touch with some of my police buddies and they're gonna see what they can do about this situation. Cheers! I have the same story as everyone else - verbatim. Matt called, "glad he found me", could sell my car quickly for a small fee. A week later he called back. Caller ID showed an unknown number. Got the message from matt called back and got patty and of course matt was on the line with another customer (as stated by other reviews)patty told me there had been 27 searches for my type of truck in my area(which im not sure how big my area consists of but im doing everything I can to sell but no one has contacted me). she did not introduce her self as part of longwood inc. it has changed (in the half hour it took me to call back) to "Auto marketing" with the offer of the same old $249 for a 90day guarteed sale and a $99 for a "High demand" listing. For those of you who get contacted be cautious... For matt, Patty, Brad,or who ever you decide to be or actually are I'd like to tell you your letting people down either step up and show some dedication if in fact this isnt a scam, and if it is F*** off you might not work hard for a living and try to take advatage of the gulible ones but i earn the money that goes in my pocket! ****USE CAUTION**** P.S. I didn't think anything of it at first; I thought if I couldn't sell it I'd call him back. That was a week ago. I just got another missed call from the same guy..."I left you a message last week, like I said I could sell your CAR as I see it's still for sale...blah blah". Well, for one, I'm selling a MOTORCYCLE, not car, so I decided to google this guy...and I found all these negative things! THANK YOU for this forum and all the other negative comments I've seen about this so called, "Matt Carter". I will NOT be calling him back! More
