My Review of Bill Shultz Chevrolet:
I VERY recently visited this dealership to purchase a new HHR. My first visit was on Monday night to preview the cars they had and to select the one I wanted to purchase. I found the one that I wanted so my mother and I sat down and began to "work on numbers" with Steven Shultz. After we got a basic idea of the price we would pay, he then told us we would have an answer in the morning with regards to financing. My mother said that she would be willing to just pay cash outright to avoid financing. After a little more discussion about the car we were using as a downpayment, we left. The next day, he didnt call my mother until mid-afternoon. I then called Steven back to discuss the FINAL price of the vehicle and made an appointment that same night to purchase it out-right with cash. When we arrived that evening for our appointment, after having to wait for a little while, Steven told me that there was a problem with the tag transfer and that the price was going to be higher. I told him that we had verbally discussed the price twice and said "well maybe you should eat the price". I felt that would be the fair thing to do since we had a verbal agreement and the difference was appx $300.00. Steven immediately lost all friendly veneer and snapped at me saying "why in the hell would I do that?" He then went across the showroom to speak to someone else and my mom and I heard him yelling and CLEARLY heard him say: "I'm not selling the fucking car, they are full of bullshit." This made me VERY upset because we also had my 9 year old son along who overheard this too. After that, Bill Shultz jr. came over to us and handed back the title to our trade-in/downpayment and told us that they refuse to sell us a car-even though we were paying cash. I then told him that we would pay the extra amount because I wanted the HHR. They still outright refused to sell us the car and told us to leave. I would NOT recommend this dealership to ANYONE!!!! I went down the road to the NISSAN dealer ship and told them what happened at the CHEVY dealership and even though they were in the process of closing, Fred Ritter stayed along with a finance specalist and they basically BENT OVER BACKWARDS to sell us a car. They apologized very often for they way the Shultz' behaved-even though it wasnt their place to, and I ended up purchasing a beautiful Nissan Sentra-that has a HIGHER MSRP than the HHR had, and I walked out the door paying SIGNIFICANYLY less than the FINAL price of the HHR.
