My Review of Bob Ciasulli Auto Mall:
I spent 6 hours on Memorial Day 2004 in their dealership, getting a deal on a new Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition ($32600 MSRP). My sales person, Eric, was great, helpful and supportive, and my grade for him is 10.). But, for the management sales team I will put a grade of –10 (minus ten, to avoid misunderstandings) and even lower. What happened is that they gave me a price, a shook my hand with the sales manager, he started giving me a funny comments “how good negotiator I am”, for getting a deal out of him etc. <br>I am happy and evidently they are happy for making a deal. They showed me the how much my monthly payments would be, I agreed on it, and that was the point where my troubles started. They put the taxes and all the dealership costs in the financing. I asked them to remove them from there because I will pay them additionally to my down payment. Their answer was “No problem, let us bring you another pre-agreement”. At this point I had my check written for the down payment, but I didn’t see the “devil” sneaking behind me impersonated as dealership manager Tom. Suddenly, the sales manager is coming to me and telling me that there was a “honest mistake made by them” in the monthly payments, and that my monthly payment should be higher for $26 for 48 months = $1248. They, just before signing the pre-agreement, have increased the price for $1248. At that point my wife said that it is not acceptable and headed for the exit. Out of nowhere, the big “boss” Tom appeared and tried to play the role of mediator in solving “their $1248 mistake“. He tried to persuade me to “split” their mistake by offering me “only” $16 increase a month. So, now I have to pay $16 additional to the price I agreed on, and them, the ones who made the mistake, to take only $10. He had a courage to ask me, have I made a mistake in my life. Then I got upset and gave him a situation “If I don’t pay my monthly loan installment to the bank, will the bank forgive me that payment, and say it is OK, or it will charge me for my mistake not to pay them on time.” Than he said “Yes, one time.”, where I responded, “OK, I will pay you one month with the higher rate and the rest of them should be $26 lesser.”, which he didn’t accepted, of course. Also, he didn’t have an answer when I put him in the situation where if someone make an car accident, where that someone is solely guilty for it, can that person also ask the innocent party to “split” the cost of the repairs on both of the cars. Of course, he can’t. But Ciasulli dealership management apparently can. The funny thing is that, at the end he (Tom) said, “I am offering you a rate only $3 higher than the one you accepted. That was insulting, how can’t a dealership which turn around millions of dollars a year in sales, swallow a $150 mistake made by their manager. They lower their offer from $1248 difference and they couldn’t “accept” the $150 error and make a deal which will bring them few thousand in profit. After that insult I was not in a mood of buying a vehicle from them even for the lesser price. After I turn my back for leaving I was witness of the best proof how Bob Ciasulli treats their future customers. Tom called me from 15 feet behind my back, and when I turned my head, he raised the pre-agreement above his head and tore it saying, “Here is your contract”. I just smiled to that act of stupidity, and I was so tired after spending 6 hours there, I asked for the keys of my trade-in and left deeply disappointed
