My Review Of Bommarito Volkswagen of St Peters:
Went in for check engine light thermostate replacement, and noise from the engine compartment. A few hours later I receive a call from service stating the noise is from a bad AC compressor, the check engine light is due to a bad cooling fan. Was quoted over $2,000.00 for the repair and I had already paid up front for the thermostate. I told the department to just replace the thermostate and do nothing with the ac or cooling fan. They said okay and it should be ready to pick up at the end of the day. The end of day came I called to check on the status and they said it would not be ready until the next day. The following day I checked on the status and was informed that the noise was not the ac compressor but instead the alternator, and that he would get with the service manager to work a special price due to my experience. After making calls to repair shops, most on average were at least 1/3 the cost with the same warantee. I'm real glad I did not have them replace the AC with the first phone call. This is not the first bad experience I've had with Bommarito St. Peters, just the first time I've written a review. While the car was under warrantee and in for the scheduled 30,000 service, which the brake system is to be inspected, everything checked out okay is what they told me. Aproximatly 2 weeks went by and I noticed a noise from the rear brakes, the service writer told me that due to the damp conditions the noise was from rust on the pads. A few weeks went buy and the noise turned to a grind. Took the car back in and was told I needed new rear brakes and rotors. I could of lived with the brakes, but the rotors could have been saved had they just did the inspection when I took it in the first time.
Service has not been the only negative experience with this dealership, the initial delivery did not go smooth and ended in a loaner car while the one I purchased was being made ready with options to be installed that were paid for.
I will not be using Bommarito St. Peters for service or purchases in the future. I just don't have faith in their compentance.
