My Review of Brown's Jaguar:
We have taken our 1998 Select Edition Vandeplas several times to this dealer -not because we like it, but because we have no other option (the Maryland dealer is even worse, see our other review). The customer service at Richmond is quite good (they provide coffee and an internet connection, which is nice, but they have always been miserably stingy with the replacement rental cars that were provided without a question at our initial, fabulous dealer at Pasadena, Rusnak). But here is what matters the most: we find the car service opportunistic to possibly reckless. Every time we take our car for service (currently on factory warranty), they try to add things that equal the amount spent for the warranty covered part (at first we thought we were imagining things)! Then they never fix the problem the first time- we keep coming and coming for more! Most importantly, and outrageously, we have noticed a correlation of 'accidents' happening every time the car has been to the dealer. For instance, we took the car to them the other day to have the throttle module replaced under recall conditions -there had been no problems, just maintenance. A few days later, the computer indicated a failure of the ABS system. We took the car back, the ABS module was replaced under warranty, the throttle body and brake liquids were replaced (the former to avoid starting problems in the winter, they said); then a couple of days later, the gas pedal just goes dead while driving!; of course they claimed they had nothing to do with it. And guess what -a few days later still, the bloody car doesn't start as if they did nothing to the throttle (despite them charging us $100 for it). Conspiracy theory? Think again - it's happened too many times! And from the looks of it, it is a general problem with Jaguar dealerships in the US. DISGRACEFUL and PITIFUL!<br>
