Rick, I am very sorry to hear about your recent experience at our GM store. I know there are a lot of choices and dealerships out there. We appreciate every opportunity that we receive. I apologize for the confusion surrounding your deal. I completely understand your frustration with this situation. I reviewed the initial quote that we sent you in June and can see where the confusion took place. When you initially inquired, you had told us that your payoff was $55,200. It actually was much lower at $49,409.12. When Beth sent you the quote, she stated that we were discounting the car $1590.88, your current estimated equity on your trade. We should have been more clear with how we arrived at that $1590.88. I understand you thought we were giving you close to $57,000 for you trade because you thought your payoff was $55,200. It should have been made clear to you that we had pulled your exact payoff and we were figuring your trade for $51,000. As far as the price difference, General Motors made a decision to raise the prices on vehicles by adding 3 years of Onstar standard to the vehicles. So the price quoted was the original MSRP when the vehicle was ordered. GM added the Onstar package on all vehicles built, regardless of when it was originally ordered. GM made the change to the MSRP and since it was not originally ordered as sold, there is no price protection. I know that Eryk went to bat for you to try and make the numbers work and they unfortunately did not. We even went to $54,000 for your trade from $51,000 to try to make the deal work for you. The payment actually came in over $80 less than what we originally quoted you in June. I apologize again that we were not able to make the numbers work for you. I totally understand why you are upset and frustrated with us. We will be sure to clarify with more detail in the future how we arrived at our initial quote.
