My Review of Capitol Nissan:
As a part of the Vehicle Purchase Progam through my company, I was told that I should receive VIP service and that I should expect to be treated as a valued customer. Also, the price was already set so there was no negotiation.

My husband and I decided in Nov. 2004 to purchase a 2005 Pathfinder. We placed an order with Shannon Martin around Dec. 1, 2004 and gave them a $1,000 deposit. We were told that the vehicle would arrive in a maximum of 8 weeks and that the chances of them receiving the vehicle prior to that date were extremely high. We were also told to call them every week and remind them to check the database to see if any vehicles were available and to see when ours would be coming in.

After we placed the order, we called every few weeks. As the end of the 8 weeks approached we asked when the vehicle was expected to arrive. Each time, we had trouble getting into contact with Shannon or his manager and no one would return our calls. So, we would call back later to request information and were given the runaround again. During the 10th week, we were told that a different model of the same car was to be dropped that week. The salesman told us that the factory had sent the SE off-road (with nothing in common with the car we ordered, but conveniently more expensive) model rather than the SE. Needless to say, we were not interested in the vehicle that had been dropped that week because it was significantly different and more expensive than the vehicle we ordered.

Shannon seemed anxious to give us our deposit back and not get our business. A vehicle more similar to the one we wanted was expected to arrive the last week in March. We told the salesman that the only way we would wait the extra 8 weeks was if we were able to get a loaner car until ours arrived because their error was the reason our vehicle had not yet come. He agreed to talk to his manager regarding the loaner car and asked us to call him back at 10 am the next morning.

The next morning, we called at 10 am like he had asked us to and he had not yet talked to the general manager. He was anxious to get off the phone and acted we had inconvenienced him by calling on time. He asked us to call him back at 11, so we did and once again he hadn't been able to talk to the general manager and promised to call us back in an hour. So, having heard no update by 3:30 pm, my husband called back. This time, the salesman told my husband that he and the general manager are both very busy and don't have time for this. He continued to say that they do over 300 sales a month and that we are only 1 sale and and that getting a loaner car was a huge exception and that we are asking him to do so much for us. However, they still didn't have an update on the status of the vehicle we ordered. At this point, my husband informed the salesman that we have never asked him for anything except for information, of which he never has and that we are tired of waiting and that we were promised the vehicle within 8 weeks and it had been over 11 weeks. That night at 7:30 pm, the salesman called us back and said that they could probably have a loaner car there in 2-3 days.

At this point we had waited 11 weeks, with no update as to the progress of the vehicle that we had ordered, an expected drop date, and no vehicle to drive while we waited. Needless to say, we took our business elsewhere.
