My Review of Chaplin's:
My girlfriend and I went into this dealership last night to take a look at buying her a Subaru STi.

1. We were not greeted by sales people
2. No sales people approached us to answer questions even though there were two people sitting in their offices doing nothing, and at least 2 others just standing around
3. When no one came to help we went to look at the floor model STi, and wanted to see if the trunk had a pass through or if the rear seats folded down. As we were checking out a car a salesman finally came out of his office with a PEN AND PAPER and in front of us wrote "SOLD" and informed us that the car had been SUPPOSEDLY sold to some guy on the EAST COAST! As if there aren't Subaru dealerships on the east coast.
4. Even as he did this he didn't ask if we had any questions, he just wrote sold on the piece of paper put it on the dash, and then walked back to his office.

Stay Away at all costs.

My Review of Chaplin's:
I spent hours with the salespeople at Chaplin's. The entire time they talked up their 30 day guarantee. When I agreed to purchase a car at a certain price, I included this guarantee in writing as part of the deal (as any smart consumer knows to do). Fast forward another 2 hours, when paperwork is about finished. Suddenly they REFUSED to put their guarantee in writing, saying I "had to be able to trust them" (my friends had a good laugh at that one). When I pointed out that this was part of the agreement, they said it didn't count because I didn't have that in writing (how's that for hypocrisy?). They even admitted that putting the guarantee in writing cost them nothing if they planned on sticking to their promise, but refused to provide that piece of mind to a customer, saying they would rather lose a sale than put their promise in writing. They got their wish!
