My Review of Classic Acura:
I helped a relative buy a new Acura TL. We got it for $250 under invoice! Use this strategy: Research the car you want and find the invoice price with options. Do the normal test drive/small talk and find the car you want. Let the Salesman make the offer. Then, offer $1000 under the invoice price (being unreasonable is okay). [There's a "holdback" of 3% of MSRP built into the invoice so there's room to move.] The Manager will counter the offer with something written on the offer sheet that is better, but not good. Write on that sheet your price again, and initial it. Send it back tot he manager. This will bring the manager over with the invoice for the car as evidence of what "the paid for the car." Again, "Holdback." Come op off your price by $500 (or so). The Manager will argue this for 20 minutes (about paying the salesman, etc.). Worst case, just say: "okay, I'll pay the invoice price and call it a moral victory." You just got an invoice deal on a new car!
