My Review of Clay Nissan - Norwood:
I bought my Pathfinder from Frost Nissan, who then sold business to Clay. I had been happy with Frost Service. But, at Clay Nissan I feel like I've been getting ripped off every time I have gone for service. I go in for oil changes and every time the guy behind the counter tells me some item "is still OK, but very close to needing replacement" and tries to hussle some bogus service need. Last time they changed my oil I was told part of exaust is "close" to requiring replacement at a cost of $1200. I saw no problem when I looked at it and had it looked at by a private mechanic that I was referred to in Newton - he said "I see no problem, it's fine and no need to worry". I asked the guy his price if it had been bad instead of being lied to by dealer and he said about $700 with original Nissan parts (he uses only originals)!
Then, Clay send out emails and reminder cards about sticker inspection being due (after I had them inspect once). Nice touch but I'm convinced they "remind" me so the vehicle gets in their garage so they can tell me what they suggest I replace...again trolling for work! I took vehicle to private garage ..no problem and no B.S. ! Oh ..and by the way..that "service engine" light...occurred twice in past years and Clay really tucks it to you in cost (over $600 each time). On 1st engine light issue I read code at Autozone and it indicated the faulty part. Clay insisted on an additional $90 charge to also read code and came up with identical part to replace! Their biggest issue is that they "troll" for needless repairs when you go there..and charge through the nose once they "have you"! My advice --------STAY WAY!

My Review of Clay Nissan - Norwood:
I am writing this review as I think it is important for prospective customers to be wary of Clay Nissan. Obviously every person's experience is going to vary and 1 experience (mine) should not make the overall difference in your decision to go to this dealer or not, but let me share it with you anyway.

I had a Nissan Maxima that I took for regular tuneups and necessary service to Frost Nissan in Watertown/Newton for years. When Clay bought out Frost, the service guys told me not to bring my car to Clay and that they would rip me off. I took their advice and brought my car to a local mechanic consistently. Well, I eventually had a computer issue with the engine and brought my car to Clay to hook up to the computer. Their service team told me I needed $4000 worth of repairs to the car. I then brought their printout to my mechanic who made the necessary repairs for $350 and solved the problem.

In short, with a negative recommendation from another dealer and 1 experience with service trying to swindle me I will never to go Clay Nissan for a purchase or service. It's too bad for them since I recently purchased a preowned 2006 Nissan Altima within the last 2 months.

My Review of Clay Nissan - Norwood:
My wife and I purchased a Nissan Pathfinder from Clay Nissan in 2008 from Julie Vonderhyde (sp.). She was a friendly salesperson and we got a reasonable deal. When my wife's one year inspection came due, she went to Clay. She was told that two of the tires had to be replaced to pass inspection. We were incredulous!!!! The vehicle only had about 8000 miles put on it in that year and the cost for the two tires was over $400. We tried to contact Julie and, when she was not available, spoke with the sales manager. We were told that if their tires pass when they sell, no matter how close to failing, they are sold that way. What a ripoff - maybe they replace tires with close to failing ones and save the others. Who knows!!!!! And, by the way, Julie never returned the message we left -- real good sales follow up and assistance. I would NEVER recommend anyone buy there - there are a lot of other Nissan dealers in the great Boston area -- I know, just bought a new Altima at one....: )

My Review of Clay Nissan - Norwood:
I went into Clay after a bad experience at BOCH, at Clay I wasnt stocked, bumbarded, husseled in anyway. They didnt sell me any bullcrap on "today only deals". All of the guys that work their are very friendly but not in a creepy way. I went with the Sentra which I am very happy with, the only complaint I have is there isn't an "open trunk" button on my key set. I HIGHLY recommend Wayne, he has restored my faith in car salesman.

My Review of Clay Nissan - Norwood:
I would not recommend this dealership for sales or service. What a huge disappointment. Since I bought this car it's been nothing but trouble. Nothing but pressure from the sales staff and since then it's obvious that they don't care about there customers. I've had to bring back my car repeatedly because they can't correct the problem right the first time. Don't go there.

My Review of Clay Nissan - Norwood:
I bought a car from this dealership on 1/31/08. All they cared about was getting the car out the door. I took delivery of the car the same night I purchased it. BIG MISTAKE! The Tire Pressure alert was on. Get this. The salesman took the car to get gas, saw the tire pressure light indicator on and still did not put air in the tires. The car pulls to the left because of the low left front tire. Is that safe? The car was not cleaned at all. The salesman said, I could come back the next day and they will clean the car. Ok I said. The dealer/salesman took the"Sticker Price" off the rear side window, however, left the white tape on the window. Not just a little of it but, all of the outside edging of the sticker price. The manual for the brand new vehicle was missing. So what did the dealership do, they gave me a 2008 manual when the car I bought is a 2007. What is going to happen when the person who buys the 2008 car that is now missing a manual? This dealership has terrible customer service. I've spoken to a manager there, his name is Chris, I will never speak to him again. He made it easy for me to never want to deal with this dealership again. I hope people spread it around about Clay Nissan. They are the worst. This was the 16th car I've bought over the years and none of the previous 15 dealings have been this bad! I am calling Nissan on Monday to complain and to see what can be done about this situation. There is more bad stuff this dealership exhibits and did, however, I think what I have put is enough for now. If you are looking for a Great Nissan Dealership, go to Team Nissan in New Hampshire! Great Customer Service, Price and People!

My Review of Clay Nissan - Norwood:
I was planning on leasing an '06 Murano but not for another 6 months or so based on my current financial situation. Clay Nissan somehow worked a miracle and gave me the exact model and color that I wanted for only 1/2 of the down payment that I had expected to pay. So I drove home my brand new car yesterday! They were very friendly and although seemed like the typical salesmen at first, were very accomodating and ulimately wanted to get me what I wanted. They weren't pushy and after explaining what my limits were, they came up with a deal that worked for me. I would definitely recommend this dealership to anyone - besides having a nice staff, they have a the biggest selection of brand new Nissan's.
