My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
Overpriced the vehicle by thousands, and discounted it just above MSRP to make me think I was getting a deal, bat me up in finance the rate actually increased by 2 points due to higher list price. Then they offered me 2000.00 less for my trade and It had been appraised by 4 other dealers to make more money!

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
Having read the reviews of this dealership written by others I was expecting the worst...but because of the great prices offered in their ad in the newspaper we decided to drive in from the York area to look at Elantras and Sonatas listed in their ad. Althought they did not have any 2009 4 cylinder Sonatas on the lot they did have several 2009 Elantras which qualified for the great prices advertised...and we bought one. Our salesman, Sean Bennett, did a great job for us, and we would highly recommend him to anyone. The only negative we experienced was that we had to wait over 3 hours while the paperwork was being processed and to drive the car home that day...which caused us to get stuck in 4pm shift-change traffic in York. (It may have taken a little longer to process our paperwork because we had a "clunker" to trade...but if we know it were to take over 3 hours we would have gone out and returned later rather than just sitting in the dealership.)

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
I have been to many dealerships in the past few weeks and I never felt more comfortable than I did at colonial hyundai of downingtown. The sales staff was very knowledgable and courteous, and there was a general atmosphere of friendliness and care for our needs. We originally went in for one particular vehicle, but Vince quickly realized that there was another vehicle that suited our needs much better. I cannot thank Vince or Colonial Hyundai enough and will be sure to send all of my friends and relatives to them when they need a vehicle.

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
The place is horrible. As soon as I walked in there it smelled. There was crap all over the floor and holes in the ceiling. If they are such a successful dealer, like they say they are then they need to spend some of those profits on a new building. They sales people there were for the most part polite and professional except a few who looked like they should be working at burger king. Sloppy looking. I was told by email that they had huge discounts on the Genesis so I decided to come by and take a look. After I got there it was a different story. They wouldn't budge off the price until I was getting ready to leave. The car and Hyundai product in general was amazing. I was ready to buy that day but they weren't ready to sell. I went and bought an Infiniti M45 instead and paid $10,000 more then the Genesis but I was treated with white gloves there. So when it came to writing the check, I didn't care. I would not recommend this dealership but if you go there then wear a hazmat suit

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
Not a good experience dealing with one of the sales manager. The sales man was fine and after i called the owner with my complaint he did apologize for the mistakes made on the part of his staff. I was not happy with the outcome and in my opinion only it was a classic bait and switch move on their Part. I will never do business with Colonial Hyundai in Downingtown Pa and will warn every friend and family of the same.

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
I had a terrible experience at Colonial. Before going out there, I asked if they had any of the specific model I wanted, and was told that they did. But when I got there, they claimed that they had all been sold. I'm skeptical of that because I was asking for a very specific model, and they haven't gone quickly at any other dealer I've talked to, so multiple going in one day seems strange.

Again, before going, I talked to a sales manager there, who assured me that he wouldn't waste my time if I went out there, and that they could get any car that I wanted, and that finding another car would not be a problem. When I got there, I was told that the sale that was going on (33% off) only applied to cars in stock, and not for dealer trades, and so the sale was not valid for what I wanted!

Next, they had a 33% off sale on all their cars, but this is BS. They mark up the cars by thousands of dollars above MSRP (claiming it's Adjusted Market Value, which no other dealer in the area does), which allows them to claim they are having great sales, which aren't really sales at all.

They are liars, the worst kind of car salesman. Go somewhere else; don't waste your time with this crap.

P.S. In addition, while I was there, another customer was talking to the salesmen/managers about a car she wanted to purchase, and it sounded like she was not very happy with them, and that they had told her one thing, and then when they got her in to sign papers, they were telling her something else. I don't know what exactly it was about, but this is one more reason to stay away from this terrible dealer.

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
Don't go to this dealership.

I got swindled by them. They are as phony as a $3 bill.
All they care about is being nice to you til they get their positive rating.
Rate them honestly.
They play games with financing.

I got approved for a good rate and they called me back in and said i had to resign due to a technicality. When i came back in they said that i had to change banks (unbenowst to me they moved up my first payment) they upped my payment and rate and cut what they were offering me. I felt in a bad posiiton as they already had my car on trade in and didn't know what to do - their finance guy pressured me into signing a new (worse deal and here i am stuck with it).

In short they are a bunch of crooks who shouldn't be operating....Buyer beware - after you are stuck with it for 5 years it's too late.

I was a devoted Hyundai dealer - now I will never buy a Hyundai again and i advise other people not to either. Buy American - buy a Ford.

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
I've worked with 2 different sales people here to purchase 3 cars. Twice I worked with Mr. Kenneth Infante and the other sales person's name I forgot. I've had a pleasant experience all three times and I've purchased all three cars at well below MSRP. If you walk in there knowing what you should be paying, acknowledging that the dealership is in business to make SOME money, you won't be disappointed. However, be prepared to spend some time there while they try to keep the prices up. I would appreciate more accurate description of what is available when I call on the phone. Twice, we called and was told there were several in stock of the specification I asked for but came by to find out there was only 1 or 2 in that specification. Although their sales is great... service is another issue. I tend not to go to this dealership for service. I may write a negative review on this later.

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
I came in having visited another Hyundai dealer who told me that the numbers I needed to be at were unrealistic and told me to go ahead and go to Colonial. Well when I got there Taki was so courteous, helpful, and polite and he got me to exactly where I needed to be. I don't understand all the complaints on here about Colonial. They are an A+ dealership and Taki is an excellent salesman who I would send my closest friend to.

My Review of Colonial Hyundai of Downingtown:
This dealership is perfect example of the sterotype salesmen. Our car was over priced by thousands, yet made to seem like we were getting a deal. We were promised 2 full years of service no matter how many miles we put on the car, by both the salesman and one of the managers. When we were provided with only one punch card for service, we thought nothing of it. Now after 9 months, our punch card is close to the end of its first year. When asking the service dept. how to go about another card, we were told to take it up with the salesmen who sold us the car. We were told that each new car comes with only 1 year free service. It's nice how that story quickly changed.

We paid for an upgrade in the roof of the car and had the liner falling down within a few months of our purchase. The middle arm rest in the back seat had a tear from the leather not being placed correctly.

Oh the best part, is sitting in their waiting room for service- they hide you on the side of the building where it is HOT! The a/c doesn't work in the summer or is overwhelmed by the sun. At least you get to sit there with other frustrated customers, who like us will never buy from this dealership again.
