My Review of DCH Freehold Toyota Scion:
I begain shopping on-line to narrow down my vehicle choices based on reliability and find pricing for new car and trade-in. Based on value based criteria like cost to own, reliability, and price, I narrowed it down to Toyota. Almost as an after thought, I did a search on dealers and found many negative reviews on Toyota dealers close to my residence in N. NJ. Upon reading this site on DCH and decide to give them a try. Marc patiently took me on 4 test drives to narrow down my choice further between RAV4, Highlander and Venza and 4cyl vs 6cyl. There was not pressure and no complaining throughout that 3 hour process.
The online experience was painless and helpful. Once I decided on Venza, Marc did a search of 100 mile radius for cars that met my criteria. He didn't try to sell me $2K to $5K of extra options that I didn't want, but did find me a lightly but nicely equiped car on the DCH lot, which helped with my trade in negotiation.
I got a no-nonsense quote on the new car be going through the internet in working with Michelle -- there wasn't a long process of haggling, the brought out a price that was very close to edmund's "what people are paying" price and when the sales manager offered to match my bank rate on financing (3.9%), discount a sun roof add on, and come up to the mid-range on my trade in value, I made the deal painlessly.
When I didn't buy that day (wanting the wife to come back and test drive in the AM, they didn't get uptight or pressure me). The wife did like the car, so we bought the next day, where Marc and Michelle worked really hard to get me in and out of the dealership on purchase day quickly and professionally. Lastly, the finance manager gave his pitch on extended warranties, but didn't hassle me when I turned them down. I didn't even bother shopping them vs these other dealers listed with the nightmare stories in the end. I might have left a little money on the table, but not worth the days of my life to kill myself and the dealer over $200 bucks. That said, I'm not sure I would have done better, since I got the price edmunds said people are paying. ALL in ALL, a great buying experience. In conclusion, the dealer would have gone out and found my a car w/in 100 mile radius or ordered one, if I wanted to go that route, but in the end found me a car on their lot that they were willing to deal on. The after market sunroof add on went flawlessly and the loaner experience from DCH was fantastic, very no hassle drop off and return.
From sales manager to staff, this dealership was top notch in my experience. Less than 2 days and I was done (after a week of internet research prior to that).
