My Review of Dave Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis:
Bought a 1 year old BMW trade-in a couple years ago from Chandler Lowell - very nice guy to deal with, and this is coming from a very knowledgeable and picky car fanatic.

Not all of their salesman are that good - earlier, I dealt with another guy (can't remember name) who made up several good "stories" (lies) about himself and the car I was interested in, and just was not trustworthy. However, Chandler seemed like he had nothing to prove and wasn't overly concerned about getting me into one of their cars just to make the sale.

Everybody there seemed relatively courteous, including Ms. Mungenast who was there to greet customers when you enter their building.

They spent a long time detailing the car before they delivered it to me, which is also important at an upscale dealership.

I would recommend them - the only downside is that now I get marketing materials from them on a weekly basis, which is an annoyance, especially since I don't drive a Lexus.

My Review of Dave Mungenast Lexus of St. Louis:
On August 20, 2004 I bought a 1987 Nissan Maxima (113K miles). I drove it 300 miles to my home in Louisville. The VERY next morning I drove it and the transmission was slipping VERY badly. I contacted them on Monday the 23rd and after a week of letters and phone calls, they offered me $300 to get it fixed (my estimates from Nissan were $2500-$5000; WAY too high I know). I paid $600 over NADA because this car appeared to be so nice. Now I am faced with major repair on a car I hadn't even owned 12 hours when it was messed up! I realize I bought the car "as is", but come on...where is their integrity?!! And get this; I even asked them to help me buy a USED transmission and I would pay the labor to have it put in. I have yet to hear from them as of this date. EVERYONE needs to be aware of this when you are buying from them.. UPDATE! Today, August 30, this issue was settled in the amount of $500. I agreed to this. I didn't have a lot of options due to the "as-is" disclaimer on the window. Yes, I signed it. In my opinion, to be an A+++ dealer, they should have bought it back. I still would have lost cab fare ($45), paperwork fee ($113), and the Nissan Dealer's transmission check-out labor ($62.50). Also, I would have to drive it 300 miles back to them (if it would have made it). If you claim something is reliable, you should stand behind it. I am 42 years old. I drove it home, that's it. I didn't abuse it. It is as I bought it +300 interstate miles.
