My Review of Denny Hecker's Shakopee Jeep Chrysler Dodge:
I used to recommend them. I have bought three cars there. When they sold me my last one, though, it was a dealer demo that had tinted windows. I asked whether the tint was legal, and the sales person assured me that the vendor they used for that service kept everything absolutely compliant with Minnesota law.
A few months later, I was pulled over by Minnesota Highway Patrol. The officer checked the tint; it only allowed 16% light penetration (Minnesota law requires at least 50%). When I called Ralph Jones to complain, he immediately said, "We'll remove it for you, sir." I told him that what I thought was right was to have the tint reduced to legal limits, as the tint was a part of the package I had paid for, he merely repeated, "We'll remove it for you." I asked whether the dealership would reimburse me for the ticket, since they had actually sold me a street-illegal vehicle, and he again just stonewalled with "We'll remove it...that's all we will do." I told him he would lose a customer, and that I would likely call the Better Business Bureau, and he hung up on me.
I did call the BBB. They sent 3 letters and a certified letter, and got no response. The BBB complaint will stay on the record, now.
