My Review of Diehl Motor Co:
I highly recommend this dealership or at least our salesman. My husband and I both have horrible credit, he's only been at his job where he does make descent money for 2 and half years. I am a full time stay at home mom with no verifiable income. We went in there on a Monday night looking for a car after the transmission went out of our 99 caravan (not bought at Diehl)which we still owed almost 1400.00 on. Rai was incredibly helpfull, went through all our options with us, and told us what we needed to get a car. Now keep in mind that we were really desperate people looking for anything just so we could get a car and we also have six little boys. We explained to him that we do have six children but would take anything except a 5 speed cause I can't drive a stick. On Tuesday we were able to come up with everything that he needed and called him. Tuesday night we went back in and signed the papers to buy a 2005 kia sedona, yes a mini van. Even though we were that desperate to take anything, he pushed hard to get us exactly what we needed and even having the bad credit that we have. They took our 99 broken down dodge as a trade and paid off the balance so we wouldn't get bad credit for it and also a 93 geo storm that we had that wasn't even road legal. On Thursday (today), the Kia that we just bought had actually broke down. We were really upset but we called Rai and he was so helpful even though we were rude to him. He had a tow truck sent for our new van asap and put us in a loaner and not just any loaner either. It's a 2008 Toyota mini van so we would still have room for the boys until ours gets fixed. He kept apologizing to us over and over again. I need to apologize to him too because it wasn't his fault that our van broke down right after buying it. Once my husband and I calmed down we realized that it's not the salesman but the service department who put these cars on the lot. All the sales people can go by is what the service people tell them. I can't report yet on how good my new van is running since it just went in for service this afternoon but I can report that the sales people at Diehl Toyota were more than helpful and didn't treat us any different than anyone else. With our credit scores being less than 500, they could have easily told us they can't help us but they didn't do that. They worked very hard on our behalf and we owe Rai a really big thank you.

Reason for Visit: Service

I recommend this dealer: No

My Review of Diehl Motor Co:
I purchased a 2000 toyota camry used from Diehl in September of 2001. Having previously worked for Albert Diehl in 1988 and, having purchased three used toyotas from them beginning in the early 90s, I didn't have any concerns. In July of 2002, my car began to stall unexpectedly during high-temperature days, just after filling up with gas. Early on, the service department was helpful; they tried everything they could think of. Usually, I was without my car for 4 or 5 days (for which they always provided a loaner) and after the hot summer temperatures abated, so too did my stalling problems...often, there was a cooincidence of stalling abatement with the attempted (warranty-covered) service. After more than 10 trips to Diehl, increasing aggravation on my part, several calls to toyota customer care, one "if your car's not fixed, don't bring it back" comment from the service manager and the ulitmate expiration of my original and extended warranty; I'm left with a dangerous car that stalls unexpectedly after filling up in the summer. This has happened more than 200 times, many of them while slowing and turning across oncoming traffic. Just prior to stalling, the car RPMs rapidly rise and fall, having no net effect on the speed of the car but, it does cause the car to lurch back and forth a bit. If I am unable to counter the falling RPMs by placing the car in neutral and pressing the accelerator, the car most often stalls. The resulting confusion, loss of power-assisted steering and unintended slowing of the car from the engine shutting off is most unnerving. My car, which will be paid off in October of '06 is less valuable, from a resale standpoint, because of the dangerous condition. I now drive the roads in Diehl's local market with a yellow football-looking Diehl sticker that some people say bears a resemblance to a lemon. As the second owner, the car does not meet the definition of a lemon under the lemon law, but the yellow and black contrast gets a lot of attention. I would not recommend this dealership under any circumstances.
