My Review Of Don Massey Cadillac Plymouth:
My fiance and I visited Don Massey Cadillac of Plymouth on Monday November 1, 2010 about 8:30pm to inquire about a vehicle that they had posted on Auto Trader for sale. The sales person Darryl Washington introduced himself to us and assisted us by showing us the vehicle that we were looking for. We informed the sales person that I was 41 weeks pregnant and we were looking for a mid sized SUV for our family. We came back the next morning to test drive the vehicle. The vehicle was in excellent condition and it had everything I was looking for so I decided I wanted to purchase the vehicle. I tried to negotiate a price with the salesperson but did not come to a common agreement so I left to go to another dealership to view the same type of vehicle. After seeing the other vehicle I decided I wanted to purchase the vehicle from Darryl Washington at Don Massey Cadillac of Plymouth. We contacted Darryl by phone and told him that we agreed to purchase the vehicle at the price he offered us. I asked Darryl if he could fax a purchase order to my bank without me being present and he said yes he could that and that I didn't need to be present. I contacted my bank about 30 minutes later to confirm that they received the purchase order from Darryl Washington.
My bank received it and said it was not signed and that I needed to go into the dealership and sign the purchase order and fax it over again. I came into the dealership and both Darryl Washington and myself signed the purchase order at 4:30pm on Tuesday November 2, 2010 and he faxed it over to my bank. I told Darrly that the deal can be completed tomorrow and my bank can over night the check but Darryl asked if I can go pick up the check from my branch which is located in West Bloomfield, MI. Even though I'm 10 months pregnant and due any day I agreed to go pick the check up as requested to expedite the deal. The salesperson asked me to obtain auto insurance for the vehicle I was purchasing and fax it over to him. The very next morning on Wednesday November 3, 2010 I purchased auto insurance at 10am and had it faxed directly to Darrly Washington our salesperson and my bank. I then called Darrly Washington and informed him that I had obtained auto insurance & that it was being faxed over. He said ok and I told him I had to drive to my bank to sign the documents and pick up the check and that I would be at the dealership by 3pm to pick the vehicle up. When I got to the dealership I seen someone driving off in the vehicle that I was purchasing and had obtained insurance on. Once I got inside I went straight to the Used Cars Sales Manager and he told me that the vehicle was sold there's nothing he can do it was first come first serve and that the purchase order that myself and the salesperson had signed the day before and the insurance I purchased meant nothing! The situation has not been resolved even after speaking with the Used Cars Sales Manager Les Monger or the General Manager John Rossignol. None of the management staff at the dealership ever apoligized or tried contacting me to resolve the matter. Instead my fiance had been contacting the dealership asking them how they were going to resolve this situation but still no communication from management at all. I would never recommend this dealership to anyone not even an enemy. They have very poor customer service and didn't even treat me as if I were a customer. They treated me as if it didn't make a difference at all that I was spending my money with this dealership. I guess they forgot that the customers are who built there business and the customers are the reason why they are still in business.
