My Review of Eastgate Ford Inc:
Ok... Here's a few things I can tell you...
1. Eastgate Ford doesn't know how much oil to put in a 2000 Mustang. In my case they overfilled the oil by an extra quart. They put 6 quarts of oil in an engine that only holds 5. The engine is now blown and Eastgate says that much extra oil wouldn't have hurt a thing. I have another mechanic who disagrees. So what I've had to do is schedule time with a performance auto clinic to take the engine apart and diagnose what caused the failure. Then we'll know for sure who's right.
2. Eastgate Ford gave me their raw accounting sheets detailing work on other people's vehicles. What happened is I went in and asked for a reprint of the last work they did on my car, (Coincidentally the oil change was missing from the printout). On the backs of the printouts were their raw accounting sheets. I guess they were recycling paper. These sheets show their raw labor and parts cost and the markup they charged to individual customers. On one of them dated April 2004, their raw labor cost was $38.59 and they charged the customer $132.95. That's a 345% markup. Nice if you can get away with it. Their parts markup was a little better, just 210%.
3. Their customer service person is also the head of their service department, Sue Waymire. How far do you think that gets you when you have a problem with the work done on your car?
Truth is we won't know for sure if their mistake in overfilling the oil caused my engine damage. At least not until we get the engine torn apart.

TO BE CONTINUED....
