My Review of Ed Voyles Honda:
I very strongly urge anyone in the lookout for a new vehicle to keep a safe distance from Ed Voyles Honda.
I was in the market for a new 2008 Honda CR-V EX-L. I had received several quotes from area dealers. I called Ed Voyles Honda to get a quote and was given an excellent price. I was asked to give my credit card information so they can use it charge $500/- deposit to ensure I get the deal. Instead of giving the credit card over phone, I faxed in the information outlining the exact cost of the purchase and that I was authorizing them to charge the deposit amount to my credit card provided that I am able to drive out the vehicle that very day for the cost mentioned in the letter.
After receiving my fax, I got a phone call from the sales agent, Mike Guzman, saying that one of the managers do not want to do the deal. But since he offered the price to me, he will still honor it provided I come closer to closing when the manager would not be around. I agreed to this.
2 hours later, Mike, the sales guy, calls again to inform that there is no deal as his second manager also was not acceptable to the deal. At this point, I told Mike that I was very disappointed in the whole process. Mike then mentioned that he has new numbers that he has approval of. I asked him to fax and email me that information to make sure that there are no new surprises. He faxed and emailed the information more than an hour later. Even this time, there was a discrepancy in what he had led me to believe over phone and what was in the fax and email. At this point, I did not feel like pursuing this any further with this dealer and wrote back to Mike saying that there are still discrepancies in his latest offer.
Today, Mike called again asking me for my response. I told him that I am no longer interested in pursuing the purchase thro’ his dealership. I asked him to make sure that he reverses the deposit, if he has already charged. To this, he told me that the advance amount is not refundable. If it does show up as a charge on my credit card, I will have to pursue this further with my credit card company.
