"Empire toyota in Oneonta"

TERRIBLE EXPERIRNCE!! I PUT $100 DEPOSIT TO HOLD A car AND WHEN I FOUND A BETTER DEAL AT HONDA THE TREATED ME crap!! They accidentaly credited my card $1,000 instead of $100 when I went to get my money back. They rudely called my bank and asked them if they could increase my credit limit to get their money back without me knowing!! They call me 14 times today alone!!! When I call to talk to them they continue to be very rude and tell me it's my fault!! Worst decision ever!

Wish I had of checked reviews first... "a pleasure hearing back from you. Quick question --- are you stupid???" ...this is the opening line of the final contact I had with the "Sales Manager"...thankfully, I put a deposit on a vehicle elsewhere this afternoon and can put this whole bad experience behind me.....I feel like I need a shower....sadly it seems my experience is not unique and if the owners cared, or even discouraged this behavior, they would have done something about it by now...STAY AWAY.

"I don't even know where to begin. I went to trade in..."

I don't even know where to begin. I went to trade in my Prius in order to lease a Corolla. We agreed on 8500 on my trade in and 20300 on the corolla. 1. They refused to give me back my equity in cash. They tried to force me to put it into the lease. 2. I never leased before and asked for full disclosure of all fees and they did not tell me about the acquisition and disposition. 3. I get to signing and they wanted me to sign the lease on an electronic keypad on the computer WITHOUT SEEING THE CONTRACT. 4. They had changed the contract price of the car from the agreed upon 20350 to 21850 and told me the 1500 they added was a lease fee. I walked away from the deal and called Toyota corporate to file a complaint. Later that day I receive a call back from the "Owner/Manager" asking me what I wanted and why I called the 1800 Toyota number. I told him to file a complaint. He called me a whiny little xxxx. I don't think anything will come of it but I called and left a message with the corporate executive office, and the regional manager. I am also leaving a BBB report and writing a letter to Mr Yuki Funo the USA chief executive officer.

"I found the 2012 Toyota Sienna XLE on their web site..."

I found the 2012 Toyota Sienna XLE on their web site stating 30245$ + doc fee of 100$. Drove all the way down from where I live in Toronto On Canada to Oneonta to make an offer. First it was a little confusion over pricing of the vehicle but thanks Jim, Steve and owner of the dealership the issue resolved. I got a call from sales manager Steve, he gave me a great deal, said he would proceed with documentation and once the documents are ready I will get a call. As promised in a week I got a call that the car, documents are ready. I asked is certified cheques OK as a payment to which Steve answered yes. Usually Canadian certified cheques are not accepted in dealerships so this was a great step for them to accept. Otherwise I would had to deal with all the headaces with wire transfers and that kind of things. So took a bus to Oneonta, was a long ride, Jim came to bus station to pick me up. Went back to dealership. Guys organized everything really fast and nice. Car was cleaned and detailed in and out. Full tank of gas as promised. Took a quick drive back to Toronto, and today I finally got my Canadian plates and now I am a happy owner of 2012 Sienna. Thanks to Jim, Steve and owner of the dealership (sorry I don't know his name, it's just I know from words of Jim and Steve that he assisted in this process also) I would highly recomend this dealership.

"My wife and I were ready to replace our vehicle and made..."

My wife and I were ready to replace our vehicle and made an appointment for a test drive of a Venza Limited. We liked the car and sat down with the salesman we purchased a new truck from earlier in the year. We liked the salesman and wanted to give him the sale. The negotiation became the usual hassle, the salesman had to go to the back room for everything. From the start we told him how much we were looking to get for our trade-in. He started with the sticker price and reluctantly made us feel like we were getting what we wanted for our trade...we asked about the zero % financing, but decided against it. The price negotiated included $500 rebate. We arranged to pick-up the new car the following Saturday and put $100 deposit on our credit card. Two days before we were to pick-up the car the financial rep. called to give us the amount we needed to purchase the car. He told us that the price would be $500 more than agreed on because the rebate only applied if Toyota financed the loan. After an unsatisfactory discussion about the price I cancelled the deal and asked that my credit card be credited for the deposit. On the day we were originally going to pick-up the car the salesman called to tell us that the owner of the dealership wanted our repeat business and was willing to give us more for our trade. I advised him that I already bought a new car elsewhere. I again asked for credit to my credit card. I am still waiting for the credit to appear on my card. In short my experience was the type that give salesman a bad name.

"Brought my new car in for an oil change at 15000 miles...."

Brought my new car in for an oil change at 15000 miles. Took an hour and the initial bill was $95.00. The service manager explained that they balanced my wheels also, and that was the reason for the high cost. I told him I never asked for a wheel balance, and furthermore there was nothing wrong with the original balance. Then the manager subtracted the cost but wrote it up as a warranty claim. They performed unnecessary service, they lied to Toyota, and they just wasted my time. I will never buy a Toyota there or go there for service.

"For one thing it took them five years to figure how to..."

For one thing it took them five years to figure how to turn off the check engine light and have it stay off. Each time charging me for some part not covered under warrenty (have all recipts). I was told the carbon canister underneath the vehicle was full of gas due to filling the tank too full. They showed me the canister and there was no such carbon canister under the Sportage like that. I could write a book about them after five years. I have worked on cars all my life and have always maintained all my thirty + autombiles and eighteen motorcycles myself after the warrenty was finished. So I knew when I was being snookered. All I can say is buyer beware. P.S. Empire no longer has a Kia dealership, and sure wouldn't buy a Toyota from them.
