My Review Of Empire Toyota:

I found the 2012 Toyota Sienna XLE on their web site stating 30245$ + doc fee of 100$. Drove all the way down from where I live in Toronto On Canada to Oneonta to make an offer.

First it was a little confusion over pricing of the vehicle but thanks Jim, Steve and owner of the dealership the issue resolved. I got a call from sales manager Steve, he gave me a great deal, said he would proceed with documentation and once the documents are ready I will get a call.

As promised in a week I got a call that the car, documents are ready. I asked is certified cheques OK as a payment to which Steve answered yes. Usually Canadian certified cheques are not accepted in dealerships so this was a great step for them to accept. Otherwise I would had to deal with all the headaces with wire transfers and that kind of things.

So took a bus to Oneonta, was a long ride, Jim came to bus station to pick me up. Went back to dealership. Guys organized everything really fast and nice.

Car was cleaned and detailed in and out. Full tank of gas as promised.

Took a quick drive back to Toronto, and today I finally got my Canadian plates and now I am a happy owner of 2012 Sienna.

Thanks to Jim, Steve and owner of the dealership (sorry I don't know his name, it's just I know from words of Jim and Steve that he assisted in this process also)

I would highly recomend this dealership.

My Review Of Empire Toyota:

My wife and I were ready to replace our vehicle and made an appointment for a test drive of a Venza Limited. We liked the car and sat down with the salesman we purchased a new truck from earlier in the year. We liked the salesman and wanted to give him the sale. The negotiation became the usual hassle, the salesman had to go to the back room for everything.
From the start we told him how much we were looking to get for our trade-in. He started with the sticker price and reluctantly made us feel like we were getting what we wanted for our trade...we asked about the zero % financing, but decided against it.
The price negotiated included $500 rebate. We arranged to pick-up the new car the following Saturday and put $100 deposit on our credit card. Two days before we were to pick-up the car the financial rep. called to give us the amount we needed to purchase the car. He told us that the price would be $500 more than agreed on because the rebate only applied if Toyota financed the loan. After an unsatisfactory discussion about the price I cancelled the deal and asked that my credit card be credited for the deposit. On the day we were originally going to pick-up the car the salesman called to tell us that the owner of the dealership wanted our repeat business and was willing to give us more for our trade. I advised him that I already bought a new car elsewhere. I again asked for credit to my credit card. I am still waiting for the credit to appear on my card.
In short my experience was the type that give salesman a bad name.

My Review Of Empire Toyota:

Brought my new car in for an oil change at 15000 miles. Took an hour and the initial bill was $95.00. The service manager explained that they balanced my wheels also, and that was the reason for the high cost. I told him I never asked for a wheel balance, and furthermore there was nothing wrong with the original balance. Then the manager subtracted the cost but wrote it up as a warranty claim. They performed unnecessary service, they lied to Toyota, and they just wasted my time. I will never buy a Toyota there or go there for service.

My Review Of Empire Toyota:

For one thing it took them five years to figure how to turn off the check engine light and have it stay off. Each time charging me for some part not covered under warrenty (have all recipts). I was told the carbon canister underneath the vehicle was full of gas due to filling the tank too full. They showed me the canister and there was no such carbon canister under the Sportage like that. I could write a book about them after five years. I have worked on cars all my life and have always maintained all my thirty + autombiles and eighteen motorcycles myself after the warrenty was finished. So I knew when I was being snookered. All I can say is buyer beware. P.S. Empire no longer has a Kia dealership, and sure wouldn't buy a Toyota from them.

My Review Of Empire Toyota:

After seeing a sign that stated "undercoating" in the new truck I purchased from this dealer I decided to spend the $200.00 to have the job done. I may add that the salesman told me, "they spray all the metal under the truck with undercoating."

After inspecting the job I realized that many steel parts were not sprayed at all! Before contacting the dealer I did my homework and contacted the manufacturer who refered me to the distributor for my area. The distributor expalined to me that everything that is metal needs to be coated except the motor, transmision and exhaust system. I made an appointment with the dealer and told the service manager, John Maine, what the "specs" are from the distributor. John is an really nice man and he gave me a vehicle to drive and also had a scratch fixed (great job on the scratch) on my door. He said, "Don't worry the undercoating will be done to your satifaction."

Well he was wrong!

I asked for "something" to be done to rectifiy the fact that I will now have to take time off from work and spend gas $ to drive the 140 miles to have the distributor do the job the right way!

I called the ECP companies distributor again and he is in agreement with me that the frame rails, crossmembers, trailer hitch, rear end should all be coated.

My hope was that Empire Toyota's Amy(did not get her last name), Manager/Controller, would see the value of refunding me a partial payment to offset the shoddy workmanship of her shop and defer the costs of driving to the distributor (gas and time off from work). Well she offered to have her shop try again and I refused saying "you tied up my time once for nothing...why would I do that again?"

I explained that a good faith of $50.00 would be ok with me for my time and gas...and she flat out refused...she told me my mind was made up in advance and that she can't work with me.

How fortunate she is to be a mind reader...she should be doing another job that can utilize her mind reading abilties. What she is lacking is a good understanding of the lost art of Customer Service!

Personally, I will now have to find another Toyota dealer to have my service work done.
