My Review of Ernie Haire Ford:
I hope these guys get a salary because they sure aren't selling any cars.
Me: Do you have any Eddie Bauer Expeditions?
Them: I think I have one back here - let me find it.
Me: I just walked in the opposite direction to go look at the Expeditions that were in plain sight.
Them: After coming to find me looking at the trucks, of which there were 6 Eddie Bauer's, all parked together -- "Oh - You found them!"
Me: How many miles is on this one?
Them: I don't know, I'd have to get a key to find out.
Me: Well, how much is it?
Them: $24,900.
I walk to the next one - How many miles?
Response: I don't know, I'd have to get a key.
How much? $24,900.
We did this with all 6 trucks until the salesman finally said "Now I'm curious how many miles they have on them, I'm going to get a key."
After discerning the mileages, I chose one to test drive. Do you know the guy didn't even ask to see my driver's license or even inquire as to my having one before he put me behind the wheel.
After the test drive I tell him it needs to have 4 matching tires, as the ones on it were mismatched. I get a ration of crap about how it's a used vehicle and what do I expect? I expect 4 matching tires.
I tell the guy what I'd pay for it and how much I'd put down on it and he goes away and comes back with Victor who informs me that he couldn't possibly sell me that particular truck for that price because they have a right to make a profit, but he could show me another Expedition that was cheaper.
Excuse me? Cheaper? Outside they were all priced at $24,900, now that I've chosen one, suddenly they are different prices and you've got a cheaper one out there? Where - I looked all you had to offer.
When I looked over their justification of price now at $24,149, they had charged me for tires, charged me for an unidentified FORD service, charged me for a warranty......And told me if I wanted the keyless entry option that was already on the truck I'd have to buy my own key chain.
And with that the sales guy tells me at that price they'll only be making $200 on the deal. Give me a break, they probably only gave the previous owner a measly few grand as a trade-in, so don't tell me about not making any money off a truck you got for virtually nothing yet are trying to sell as if it were brand new and not approaching 4 years old.
Funny thing, on the test drive I commented on how DIRTY the truck was and the sales guy told me it was because they have been sitting on the lot for months. Yet when I wouldn't buy the truck for their ridiculous price I was told that "these trucks are hot, we can't just give them away."
No, you guys can't give them away and it doesn't appear that you can sell them either.
