My Review of European and American Body Works:
I'll just give you the facts and leave you to your own conclusions. I purchased the car on ebay. He advertised it as a “very clean” corolla, a “jewel,” and suggested the buyer “fly in and drive out.” He made no mention of the scratches and dents all over the car. It looked like a large dog had trampled it, or maybe it had been under a tree during an ice storm. The pictures (taken shortly before sunset) did not reveal anything. He says he changed the oil, but the oil was not even on the dipstick. When I picked it up, the gas gauge was literally resting on the empty. I had doubts that it would make it to the gas station. One tire would not hold air for more than 4 hours. Two tires would not hold air overnight. He did not mention that it had only one key (a transponder key, which cost about 100 bucks each). The keyless entry was inoperative even after battery replacement. There was a cut in the seat apolstry. There was no jack or lug wrench by the spare tire (would have been handy considering the three flats. I’m not looking for the perfect car, I”m just looking for reasonable disclosure of actual condition before I “fly in and drive out.”
