My Review of Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge:
Had a vehicle towed in for service because it wouldn't start. After looking at it, they quoted $850 to fix. After the work was done, they called and said that it didn't fix the problem so another $98 authorization...they called back saying they couldn't find anything yet and another authorization would be needed for going further...could be several hundred more dollars. I said NO, I cannot spend that much more on a 1994 jeep. I was told they would finish up but I would still have the same problem with starting and winter was coming etc... then miraculously, within 10 minutes of telling them NO, no more money, they called to say "I think we got it fixed". He heard a woosh sound and now it seems to be fine-amazing how that happened.

Not the end...after taking the vehicle home, we smelled gas (and so did our neighbor, who asked about it). I couldn't see anything and just let it go but every time I drove the jeep, the gas smell was overwhelming. After a few days, now there was a puddle under the jeep when stopped for more than 30 seconds.

Ewald was called and they refused to look at the problem without charging again. This is totally irresponsible-they caused the problem and after ripping us off for $940 they won't even look at it under workman's warranty.

DO NOT GO HERE...even my sister and brother-in-law bought their Jeep Grand Cherokee at Ewald and they will never go back due to terrible service and RIP OFF!!!

They were EXTREMELY friendly, I must say...so much so, I almost gagged.

I drove away pretty happy with my purchase. I came in because my car was making a grinding noise from the front tires. They told me that they were looking for my kind of car, for a trade in. They gave me a desent price on my current car and sold me a brand new car for the same monthley price I was paying for the old one I had. No more more noises and I got a brand new car with the life time warrenty that chrysler has. With the way things are now I am glad that I got the chance to be able to get a new car and not have to worry about what was going to happen next to the old one.

I was extremely impressed with the follow up I received from Ewald CJD. I searched online for the pricing of a New Jeep Grand Cherokee, and I emailed them for a quick quote. I prefer to do this rather than going through the process of building the car online.

They returned my email immediately. Plus then I received another follow up from Tim, just making sure that they answered my questions.

I'm still a little further out in the buying cycle, but because of the prompt and friendly response online, I will be sure to visit Ewald CJD!!

My experience with Ewald was just horrible from day one. I went the the Mayfair dealership to look at a used Jeep in October before they closed in December 08. I was given a decent quote on my trade in of $10700 which I thought was totally fair. The sales guy Chris and the manager wouldn't budge a penny on the price and the financing was over 2 points high than what I am at now with my loan. Instead of working around this they just let me walk and didn't offer me anything to make a sale.

I watched the Jeep and the price dropped 2 times in november so I went back in December to the Ewald location in Hartford and delt with a Grant there. He was nice...but didn't seem to want to so anything to make a sale either. When it came to looking at the numbers they only wanted to offer me $8k for my trade in now. So while the car dropped a grand in price, the offer on my car went way down. When I complained they started quoting autcion prices at me and trying to convince me my car was worthless. The manager Jack was really rude too.

I just want to say they did a horrible job and they will never earn anyone's business playing games like this. It's February now and the same Jeep is now at their franklin location with an even higher price than it was when it wasn't selling four months ago.

My Review of Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge:
I just bought a used car at Ewald Auto three months ago, and already after two months my car had to have a faulty cooling fan fixed. The worst part was that since I bought the car in the winter, a time in which the fan doesn’t typically have to run, I might have easily bought the car with a broken fan. In other words, the dealer sold me the car with a bad fan with the hopes that it wouldn’t overheat until the weather got warmer. Either way, they didn’t care at all to cover the repair.

But it gets worse. Just two days after getting my car “fixed,” the timing belt broke and they then told me that it would cost at least $1500 to fix! They also said that was the best case scenario because the engine would also probably have to be replaced at a cost of $2,000-$3,000. Of course, I wasn’t going to invest that kind of money for a used car I had just bought for less than $5,000. However, I was expecting to get some kind of deal on a different used car but when my situation was taken up with the owner of the entire company he basically told me to shove off.

Anyways, unless you want to end up like me, with thousands of dollars in a car loan and no car, do yourself a favor and don't buy at Ewald Auto!

P.S. Just check Ewald's Better Business Bureau rating for more proof of their bad practices.

I was quoted $250.00 for a brake job and the total came to $317.71. That's a big difference in today's economy. And I had a 9:00 A.M. appointment and my car wasn't taken into the shop until 10:00 A.M. I would have thought you would have taken SOMETHING off the price for my excess wait time on a Saturday morning.

I've purchased my last 3 vehicles from your company but I think next time I'll look elsewhere.

My Review of Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge:
This dealership's customer service was awful. They had absolutely no consideration for people's time, and they did nothing above and beyond with anything. They seemed like they didn't even value you as a customer. They tricked us into coming down by saying they'd give us one price and when we got there it was another. Then, after spending 4 hours there the night before trying to get pricing together, of which they nickel and dimed me, I called the next morning to have my salesperson fax me a credit app. Because he was "busy with another client" I had to leave a message. Not only did I not receive a call back, but I didn't get the fax until 6:30 pm that evening, at which time I had already found another dealer much more eager to work with me. I got a better vehicle, better price, and WAY better customer service. I went to Griffin Dodge in Menomonee Falls. I was in and out with a brand new car within a couple of hours, and everyone there was friendly and eager to be of service. Stay away from Ewald Dodge... they stink!
