My Review of Farrish Pontiac GMC Oldsmobile:
To Whom It May Concern:

Please give this letter your utmost attention and read about the experience I had while dealing with this dealership.

• I purchased a Black 2006 Jeep Rubicon on December 12, 2006 at the Farrish used car lot in Fairfax Virginia. It only had 309 miles on it at the time of purchase. At this time it’s still under factory warranty and brand new.
• My salesman was rude and pushy. I felt I had to deal with his attitude because this was the vehicle I really wanted and I bought it anyway for the purchase price of 24,331.50 after taxes. During the sell, I pointed out a few scratches on the Jeep that said he would have buffed out when I bought the Jeep. This never happened.
• We made a deal to have the soft top taken off the Jeep I was buying and to have a hard top put on for an extra $ 900 .00 on top of the sale price. I feel my salesman took advantage of the fact I did not realize there was wiring involved that ran the rear defrost and window wipers as well as other hardware because this was my first Jeep. He did have an agreement paper that stated he was giving me the “hard top only” but failed to explain in detail what would be missing if he only gave me the hard top. I also feel frustrated at the fact that he put a 2004 Jeep Rubicon hard top on my 2006 Jeep Rubicon as a swap for my 2006 soft top and did not let me keep any of the hardware. I did agree to this but did not fully understand the terms and after close inspection of that 2004 hard top I wish I had not agreed to this inadequate deal. When the Jeep was returned to me there was double stick tape that had been painted over with what looked like black magic marker. I peeled back the tape to reveal four holes in the tail gate door of my Jeep. The holes were where two brackets previously sat that held the soft top in place but also work with the hard top rear window.
• I took the Jeep right back to my salesman and showed him the holes. He told me I should go to the parts department and order the brackets and screws so I would not have holes covered up with tape.
• I unhappily drove directly to the parts department. The parts consultant informed me that they could order the brackets, but the screws did not come with the brackets and because of the type of screw, they did not have them in the Jeep inventory as a part that could be ordered. Then the parts consultant said “why couldn’t they have just let you keep those brackets because we could have taken care of this with out hassling you.”
• During all this running around I noticed the inside rubber gasket was coming off the bottom left lower corner of the windshield. I also noticed that the passenger door handle was rubbing up against the metal housing the handle sits in. The paint was also coming off the door handle. It also seemed to me that the jeep was idling kind of hard. While I was at the service and parts department I made an appointment to have the Jeep repaired.
• Frustrated, I drove back to my sales person and explained what the parts guy had said. My salesman then told me I should order the parts and to go to a hardware store and try to match a screw to the holes in my Jeep. I explained that I did not feel it was fare that I just spent $25, 000, 00 and I had to have four bracket holes covered by tape in the tail gate door of my Jeep without brackets.
• My salesman then asked his boss if he could give me the brackets. Instead of giving me the original brackets that came with my 2006 Jeep, he went over to the first used jeep he could find and unscrewed the brackets and put them on my 2006 Jeep. The left bracket was even a little bent up. (I did not find that out until I inspected them after I left) Frustrated and unhappy I left and went home.
