My Review of Feeny Chrysler Jeep:
I have taken my Jeep Liberty in twice over the last four months for a transmission problem. Although they pulled codes from my engine, they told me they could not repair the vehicle under warranty unless the transmission actually slipped while they were driving it. Since my problem was weather related, (only occurred in fog or when it was snowing) this never happened. When I brought my vehicle in immediately after an occurrence, they still claimed they could not find the problem. After keeping it a day and a half, they 'discovered' a service bulletin describing the problem I was having. Turns out it was a wiring issue. Seems the wires get wet and corrode causing the transmission to slip. They then informed me that they needed to check all the wiring in the car for corrosion and this could take some time. In the meantime, I am renting a vehicle which is getting very expensive. After talking to Chrysler, I found out that this is not an issue covered by the power train warranty since it is a wiring issue even though it affects the transmission. I then removed my car from the dealership and took it to a private garage. They obtained the same service bulletin issued by Chrysler and it turns out it also lists the recommended repairs. Why my car was not repaired according to the manufacturers recommendation is beyond me. If I had left it at Feeny, I would probably be paying for a rental car for a few more days on top of the repairs, had they ever gotten around to making any. I would not take my car back there for air in my tires.
As I write this, my car is being repaired elsewhere. Turns out it only takes 2 hours
and about $300. Chrysler will not reimburse me for anything since it was not repaired at a dealership. I will never buy another Chrysler product. They won't stand behind their manufacturing defects.
