My Review of Fletcher Jones Motor Cars:
I leased a 2000 ML320 from FJ in Oct. 2000. Got pretty reasonable deal, with year end close out. Sales experience was "slick."

Within six months it had two engine/tramsmission computer failures, which eventually got fixed. Both times I got an E320 loan car, which was fine.

Since then, we have had two cupholder failures, two sunroof failures, and two driver seat plastic skirt breakages, one power window failure; all repaired under warranty.

We paid for front and rear brake jobs, each costing probably far more than an independent would charge.

Overall service experience at FJ was satisfactory, however the number or repairs needed has been way too much.

Finally in June 2004 the transmission failed in Encino, returning from a vacation. Car towed to local dealer, given ML350 loaner, and a few days later got vehicle back, dirty, repaired under warranty.

It will be turned in Oct. 2004 in beautiful condition, well below lease mileage.

For immediate future we won't be getting another MB vehicle; due to well publicized quality shortfalls. It appears the combined DB/Chrysler team builds nice looking bodies, filled with old-Chrysler quality internals.

Just leased a 2004 Audi Allroad Quattro 2.7t for 24 months. The new Audi A6 will be time-tested in 24 months, and based on my present feelings, that might be the next vehicle.

Had two great BMW Fives, but not much interested in their new iDrive gismo, or Bangle styles.

Methinks VW/Audi is the current class of German vehicles.
