My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
To reiterate what others have said, these guys are terrible. Four calls to the service scheduler went unanswered and unreturned. When I finally got a service appointment, they called when I was on my way in to the dealership to cancel my appointment because they had overbooked for the day. Unbelievable! Time after time this organization proves that it is one of the worst Mercedes dealers in America.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
These guys are awful. I went to them for about two years. Every time I went there they found more extra stuff to fix. They must be completely incompetent as well as they told me I needed two new tires one month (3k miles) after I put on four brand new BFGoodrich KDW2's. When I would pick up my car the seat was pitched all the way back and the stereo was cranked all the way up on Jammin' 94.5. Obviously someone was having fun cruising in my car.

They use to proved MB loaners but then they kicked out Enterprise and bought their own fleet "because it was cheaper". They gave me a beat up Hyundai with 25k miles on it that smelled like it was driven by the Marlboro man for the past two years. When I have to pay $1500 for scheduled service every 3 or 4 months the least they could do was cram me into a tiny C230.

The final breaking point for me was when I dropped off my car and told them I noticed a slight lag in acceleration. I told them it's been like this for a few weeks. It wasn't getting worse, but it was consistent. They called me up and gave me a bunch of B.S. about what they "thought" the problem was and it was going to cost $2500 to fix. I told them to just do the regular oil change and scheduled service and don't worry about the lag. When I picked up my car I almost got T-boned pulling out of their lot. I hit the gas, the RPM's spiked and the car barely moved. I argued over and over with the service manager(s) and they told me it was like that when I dropped it off. As far as I'm concerned they are criminals. Go to Mercedes of Westwood (a Clair company). Their a million times better then these crooks.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
My wife brought her E320 in for an oil change. She'd had a bad experience with them before but this is an oil change- not much can wrong with that right? Well not if you're dealing with FMW. They filled her VERY expensive car with over 10quarts of oil. How did we find this out? She started it up and went to drive home. Got on the highway and the "oil over mark" warning came up. She called FMW from her cell and was told "it's tough to read the oil level on those cars", it wasn't a problem but she could bring it back, leave it for a day, and they would try and get to it but it was OK drive drive in the meantime. We live some forty miles from them.

She called me afterward, I had her pull over to the first available rest area and I went and drained the oil to the correct level. For a dealship to not take the care to verify the oil level is unacceptable to me but I understand problems can happen. To compound a mistake with absolutely false advice that could cause her engine to be damaged is criminal. We will never, ever do business with them again.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
After reading yesterday’s article in the Boston Sunday Globe it refreshed my memory of the terrible experience I had at the Foreign Motors West Mercedes Benz Service Department approximately six years ago.

I left my 1989 560 SL off with a list of several periodic maintenance items to be done. They included simple things like an oil and filter change, nothing too difficult. When they completed the job they left the oil cap off my gorgeous car. Driving back home to Lexington (as you can imagine) the oil sputtered everywhere inside the engine bay. That was the first part of the story of their incompetence.

After explaining the situation to them – I brought it back. They had to replace the insulation on the inside of the hood as it was soaked in oil. Unfortunately, they used a piece of insulation that was of cheaper quality than original. When they delivered the car to my home the insulation was actually falling off of the hood and into the engine. They also damaged the front bumper but took responsibility for it. Although they brought the car back to me, they returned it dirty and out of gas. There was so little gas left in it that I ran out on my way down the street to the gas station.

I was totally disgusted with this Mercedes dealership and how they dealt with their mistakes. I was worn out. The story continues – you get the idea.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
I have bought 3 cars from FMW now. My first expiriance withthis dealer was not a good one. I had to wait 4 hours to pick up my C55 AMG. When buying a famaly member a new ML, I gave this place a second chance, with a new sales person, JC. He treated us fairly, gave us great customer care, and did not look down on us. Best auto sales guy I have delt with. Service has been ok. I have owned Nissans and Subarus however that have had better service staff and service layout that FMW. They realy need an expantion. My expiriance was to the point were I have purchased my 3rd MB product from these guys. Mostly because of JC, and his great customer care made me forget my first expiriance.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
These other reviews are ridiculously off-base. Sure they treat you well when they are selling you the car, but the service is horrible. You walk in with a $120,000 S-class, and they give you a Toyota Corolla as a loaner. Are you kidding me?? Furthermore, they are horrible at making appointments and if you want a loaner (which you are entitled to under MB policy), you have to wait several extra weeks to get an appt. This is unnacceptable when you have brakes that need to be taken care of. In addition, they try to rip you off at every turn. I paid $87 for wiper blades. Yes wiper blades (<20 bucks at any auto store). I've also paid hundreds of dollars to have tires changed. They don't tell you the cost until after they've done the service. (I paid 375 dollars for 1 winter tire to be replaced).

Do not go to this dealership. Trust me.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
Bob is a rude service advisor.
When I said that the job does not require removal of inner door panels, he suddenly yelled aggressively "How do you tighten it?". The truth is that we can tight it by opening rubber cap on side of the door (on surface facing back).
He ordered part for wagon for my sedan. He even made wrong invoice: charged for job that was not done at all. He never said sorry.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
These guys are great! I put them through the paces on the purchase of a preowned S500 4Matic, but they handled every issue extremely well. The purchase experience was relaxed and straight-forward. These guys keep their commitments. I highly recommend working with Randy Wheeler in Sales or Barry Bixby in the preowned area.

My Review of Foreign Motors West - Mercedes Benz:
Best car buying experience ever. Rodney was honest, no pressure, straight forward, and gave the best deal. We drove a BMW and liked the car better than the Benz, but bought the Benz because of the dealer experience. They were that good. I'm a tough customer I do my homework but he put everything on the table and made it a very wonderful experience. All dealers should take a lesson on how it should be done.
