My Review of Friendly Ford%2C Inc.:
My brand new vehicle was in an accident and after Friendly Ford had the vehicle for one month it was returned with a minor problem not fixed, but also with a severe amount of scratches on one on my windows. I picked my vehicle up at the close of business one day and realized the damage at home and called immediatley the next business day. I took it in to show them and explained that it had been garage kept. But, they not only would take no responsibility, they talked down to me as if I had no general knowledge at all. They first said it looked liked something brushed up against it and at the end the story changed to "not just anything can scratch glass, this had to be intentionally with something quite strong". Either way they wiped their hands clean of it and denied any responsibility. Their ending comment when my insurance agent called them on the matter was that it appears to them that it was damage by an ice scraper, though I bought the vehicle brand new without any window damage three weeks prior to my accident in the month of August. To my knowledge, MO isn't known for many Aug snow storms. They changed their story many times and after I sat waiting for one person to return from lunch, when he did return they all snuck over to my vehicle w/o telling me he was even back in. I walked up behind them w/o them noticing and heard one clearly say that they could have scratched it wiping it w/ a dirty rag, etc. and then caught it before wiping the rest of the vehicle. However, once he realized I was there, he turned around and gave me the line that he saw no way it could possibly have happened there and he can't do anything. I even went to the GM of the dealership. He was just as wishy washy in his excuses and a couple of things he said even completely went against what his own staff had just said to me. He ended by saying it couldn't have happened there and glass is so difficult to scratch, he's been in the business over 20 years and this has never happened. I only wish everyone could see my window to see how obvious it is that these are not scratches caused by a key or screwdriver or even ICESCRAPER. They are very fine, obvious rubbing marks. It looks like a metal pan that has been scratched with steel wool. They go up, down, at an angle and run right around the curve of the window corner. I am baffled that after over $5000 in repairs, they can't admit a minor mistake and replace a $200 window. Instead they talked to me like I was a "stupid woman" and couldn't follow their inconsistant story line enough to call them on it. This was my 10th and now probably my final FORD I will ever purchase. I prefer to do business with people who can stand behind their work and admit a mistake, everyone makes them. The only difference is, some are too crooked to admit it and make it right.
