My Review of Fuller Dodge:
I have a 2000 Dodge Durango with 161k miles on it. I have always maintained the vehicle religiously using this dealership. When I took it in this time for a tune-up, brakes and a NYS Inspection I noticed that the usual "people" within the service department were no longer there. I was helped by Steve, who promptly handed me a recommended 'service' schedule that listed various check-up & tune-up options broken out by varying mileage milestones. I told Steve that I didn't need any of those right now since I have properly maintained the vehicle and then I told him what I needed. He asked me for my keys and disappeared for 5 minutes to 'look over things.' He came back and entered my info into the computer system and told me that they'd call me. Within a few hours he called an told me that in fact I did need a tune-up and brakes and he gave me the estimate for that service work, which I approved. He then told me that they also 'recommended' that I have $95 worth of work done on the battery terminals or else it would fail inspection and $400 worth of work done on the steering column because there was 'too much play.' I didn't approve that work and I expressed my displeasure with what was happening. I asked Steve to review my maintenance history within their computer system to hopefully show him that I maintained the car and in fact had given that dealership some very good business over the years. I knew what he was doing and what was going on. Steve was trying to inflate the invoice because he thought he had a "live one" on the line and was taking me for everything he could and he tried to do so from the moment I stepped into the service department. Ultimately they didn't pass my vehicle for the inspection and Steve could see that I was rather disturbed by my experience. He then tried to shame me by stating that I can "get my buddy" to pass my vehicle inspection illegally but that would be on "my conscience and not theirs." As if I have some buddy that can do this for me and if I did don't you think I would have gone to him in the first place? The next day I took my Durango to another inspection dealer and the vehicle passed without any problems or snide comments. I then took it to another mechanic and asked if he would look over the entire steering mechanism within the vehicle ... you guessed it, all was just fine.

I would recommend that you be very cautious if you do business with the Fuller service department in Middletown NY. From the experience I just had I know that I won't be going back to them again.
