My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

Under NO circumstances should you deal with these crooks. While they're "woo-ing" you into buying the car, it all goes well. Once they've got your money, you're screwed.

Everything seemed to be going fine until the day we went to pick up the car we'd already signed for. Jannelle (sales), Rob, and Jim (finance guy, I'm pretty sure that was his name) had lied--about the Carfax and financing options to name a few--on the day we signed the agreement but of course none of this came to light until we went to get the car and sign the financial papers. They had written the WRONG VIN on a document, the Carfax showed incorrect mileage, and they had flat out lied about financing options. Their financing lie (or as they call it, "mistake") cost us $1000. I should have ran for the door right then, but because I wanted the car, I pressed on.

Now on to one of my favorite parts: I had driven from out of town to purchase this vehicle and therefore made an appointment to pick it up. My husband and I got there at our appointed time but sat in the lobby for more than an hour (how am I sure of the time? we watched two and a half episodes of the Brady Bunch) before anyone helped us and when we finally got the vehicle, it was never even cleaned! It was absolutely filthy! Talk about shamelessly horrible service.

The finance guys there not only total douchecanoes (they think their lame attempts at sarcasm are so amusing) but they are shady as xxxx. The one who finalized our paperwork was rude and every time I asked a question, it was like it was his first day on the job ("Um...well...you see...") I will NEVER make the mistake of going anywhere near these incompetent thieves again.

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

I purchased my 2010 VW GTI Used. It took about 2 days to get this process done. I would say that everyone was nice except for the finance manager. After waiting for someone - anyone to call me back about the car I was trying to purchase, I called the dealership and told them I was on my way. A Finance manager informed me that she just got in and didnt hear anything about my deal or who I was or what car I was wanting to purchase… With less than perfect credit, the finance person I was dealing with (a female) made me feel as if I was a second class citizen… even saying on the phone that there was no need for me to even arrive to their dealership if I didnt have some money to put down (as if me having less than perfect credit also meant I had no money to put down on the car).

Dee Wolfe my sales rep was nice, but she also made the mistake of making me feel like I was a criminal by taking several photos of the car, and vin as if my check wasn't going to clear. (something I have never experienced before buying a car).

If you want to be treated like a crook or someone that may try to steal a car - sure visit this dealership…

If you want to feel appreciated no matter your credit score - visit ANY other VW dealership… Dave Walter VW in Akron is a nice place to visit, the only reason I went here rather than them, was they didnt have a car in my price range.

ALSO - Forgot to mention - the car I purchased only had 18,900 miles on it…. two weeks after taking ownership of the car - it was in the shop getting the entire top end of the motor replaced… I do not fault the dealership for this as this could have been the driving abilities of the person before me… it was fixed (took about a month) and I was placed in a loaner during the time it was being fixed… however, the experience certified pre owned or not… it was a inconvenience

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

Andy was very busy and did not seem like he had time for us (and we even scheduled an appointment). I felt like I was being nickled and dimmed. I did not like how they took my credit card and a 'measure of good will' on my part to show I was serious about the offer and then they kept my credit card and my car keys for a long time. I felt very violated and trapped. I did not like that at all, it was rude and under minded me. Andy was very cheesy and just seemed like he was trying to sell me on what ever, we are good honest customers and had a horrible experience.

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

I have a 2010 CC leased from this dealership.

I have been to service twice now and they have been 100% accurate and efficient.

The Sales/Leasing experience was not good and I do not think I will go here again.

The Sales Agent made certain verbal statements about residual value and when I ran the numbers based on her statement we did the deal. Sadly when I came in and met with the F & I lady the numbers had been changed and she blamed the bank. Frankly that's crap and although my monthly payment remains unchanged they played with the residual value thus screwing me if I want to buy it at the end of the lease.

The car has been fine and depending on how the market looks in 2013 I may still buy it at lease end, but I do not see myself being a return customer.

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

Nothing went right with this dealership. I agreed on a price and put down a credit card deposit over the phone since I live a few hours away. When I went to pick up the vehicle, they convinced me that they could give me a better interest rate than my bank financing, so I spent the extra 2 hours talking to their finance manager. The guy was pretty slick and convinced me to buy the gap coverage w/ some horror stories. After I got home, I thought better of it, and tried to call the guy back to cancel the gap insurance (he said I could cancel it anytime, and it'd be easy). Of course suddenly the guy is unreachable and never returns my calls. I call another finance manager at Ganley and they tell me that they've sent my paperwork off to the central office and can't get my GAP insurance information unless I come down and fill out a form. I ask if I can just call the gap insurance company directly and cancel through them. They tell me that THEY DON'T KNOW who my gap coverage is with and it'd take hours to find the paperwork!! They claimed to use several different companies, but they also wouldn't give me the list of supposed companies. So this is where I realize Ganley is either a bunch of crooks or just really incompetent, and it's hard to believe anyone can be that incompetent. At this point I book time off of work to go back down there and take care of it in person. Last minute before I start driving the 2 hours, I decide to try something different. I call a random finance guy, tell them that so-and-so finance manager was supposed to send me a copy of the GAP contract for my files, but I hadn't gotten them yet. They tell me that I should just call EasyCare gap directly and have them send the paperwork to me. Ha. So suddenly they know exactly who is doing my GAP? Anyways, I call EasyCare, the lady says I can cancel by faxing her a cancellation form, and I get a confirmation that it's been cancelled the next day.

Also, other items: Ganley did a poor job inspecting my vehicle. This was in the winter time, so I didn't think to roll down the windows. Of course there was an issue w/ the window that had to be warranty serviced. Same goes for various other components (fit and finish type things). This is my 2nd VW, and I'm willing to put up w/ a certain number of minor quality issues compared to other makes just because VW's are fun to drive and have relatively nice interiors, but these were things that should have been caught before the customer had a chance to notice them. Overall this experience has left me feeling less good about VW ownership, and I'll probably avoid them from now on.

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

I had trouble getting anyone at this dealership to respond to my requests after purchasing my car here (the purchase itself was quite an unpleasant experience - watch out for the tricks they try to play). Anyway, after I got the car, they were supposed to send in the registration for my car - but they waited until the very last moment until my temporary plates were almost expired! And I had to call them numerous times about this. Also, I got the car financed through VW - however, I didn't get the paperwork until my payment was almost overdue.

Also, they forgot to put on a front licence plate holder when I went back to get this done, the service department had no record of me purchasing a car there. They were about to charge me for putting on the holder!

I would avoid this dealer since they seem to be pretty disorganized and the sales people quite frankly are arrogant and rude.

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

This is the worst dealership I have ever been too. They made us fill out all of the paperwork (credit check info, etc.) thinking we had a deal and then they came back and changed everything once they had all of our personal information. When we walked out of the dealership (after finally getting the key to our potential trade-in back) the salesguy followed us to our car and blocked our path so we still couldn't leave.

What a waste of an afternoon. And besides, the sales staff was totally unknowledgeable - they claimed VW was the largest car manufacturer in the world.

I would avoid this dealership. I would also avoid VW cars since every VW I have every driven has plastic parts falling off the inside of the car.

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

The worst delaerhsip I have ever had the displeasure in working with. Have made multiple calls to Volkswagen in order to get anything done. Dealership acts like they work for VW, instead of telling you the truth (when you call VW and call them on thier bluf) that they are, naturally, just Ganley employees.

The sales people are the worst I have dealt with(I bought my last VW from them) Matt K simply didn't know what he was doing (had to talk to his manager every second I asked him a question during the negotiation process) and Matt B was a total slimeball and wears too tight of a knock off (Express) Ed Hardy shirt all of the time and looks funny. Total clown who's perpetually living his "glimenx moment" being at Velvet Dog on W. 6th circa 2001.

The service department, while mostly polite, are just total crooks. Chris is the only one who acts like a real human being and talks to you like one. The others just take thier good old time before they ever return your call. Maybe if you are married or have multiple cars it's ok but when you only have one car yer screwed for life. Drop the car of on a Sunday night for a simple problem and you won't hear back from them until 5:00 p.m. Monday. The service manager, Jason, barks at his employees and talks in a demeaning manner to his customers. If I worked for him I would just quit but not before I laid him out.

Totally the worst. Did I mention my car is still under manufactuers warranty?? You think this would naturally solve my problems! It doesn't... couldn't imagine what they would treat you if you simply came to them out of warranty. You must need to be one of Matt B's boyfriends in order to get a loaner.

VW's service is the worst and it starts from the top. No other explanation why their entire service department hasn't been let go. I will give Chris the benefit of the doubt. Guy should just open up his own shop. VW must like having a guy like Jason in charge as he will fight tooth and nail to never go above and beyond. I guess he's "Der Fuehrer"... so to speak.

Ganley is the worst. Basically criminals. I bought my VW from a shady auction run by Russians and while I would never want them to service my cars, I'd prefer to do business with them as last I checked they don't need to add with thier fingers and toes like Matt K had to when I bought my last one from them.

My Review Of Ganley West Imports:

Broken Promise! And poor workmanship!
Who am I... I am a 27 year old medical student who grew up on a farm in north west Ohio, and used to build custom drag racing cars. I know a thing or two about cars or mechanics in general...

The day I bought my 07 Rabbit from Matt, I was promised my first service at no cost. I ended up paying 125 for my first service one month later... Maybe a dumb move on my part to not get that in writing?

Sometime around the 30k service range, These guys rotated my wheels and tires for me which was included with my oil change. Later that week I went home to my family farm to install my winter tires. I put my impact wrench on the lugs and it wouldn't break them free. It took a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar, plus 4 feet of Steel pipe on the breaker bar to break the lug bolts free! Plus one 200 pound guy on the end of it. I found this to be a little excessive. I put the wheels on my race car on at 80 - 100 pound feet of torque and have never had a wheel fall off. So, Ganley won't be seeing my business again after this experience. What if I were to have a flat tire on the side of the road? I would have never made it home! Thanks but no thanks Ganley!
