My Review of Gateway Chevrolet:
I was in much the same boat as ont of the other postings. I was assured that i would get a great financing deal. I have not so great credit, so i'm aware that it's hard for me to get a loan. So i walk in and was approached by Dan. At first very nice and friendly, i gave him my information and he went to get my "file". After sitting and waiting for 25 minutes, i was told i had been approved but all 3 banks wanted a 25% interest. His "suggestion" was to use a "Credit Restructuring Plan" to put me in a 30,000 dollar vehicle, have someone co-sign, and then all my other credit hits would go away. When i said no, i would rather take my information and leave, he said "I could be pulling a car up for you right now" to which i replied " Drive it up, i'm not driving away in it" These people think that just because a person made past mistakes with thier credit, that they are willing to make new ones. I have learned, and i'm smarter than that, and no one should EVER buy from this place

My Review of Gateway Chevrolet:
After 3 wks. of phone conversations, between myself and the finance dept. of Gateway Chevrolet, I was assured that financing was avaiable from 3 banks and all I needed to do was show up, pick out a vechicle, sign the necessary papers, and drive the vechicle home. The following are the promises made to me via the phone with, Leslie from the finance dept., and I quote."I would not ask you to make this trip(47.7miles), unless it was a done deal..We will reimburse you for any travel expense..We have three banks that have already approved you..No money down is necessary..All we need is proof of income,drivers license,utility bill and pick out a vechile, grive it home." end quote. I showed up on 10/03/06 at 10:30 AM for the appointment, and was there for about 1hr.. It ended with no vechicle, no reimbursement for travel expenses, did not ever meet Leslie and the final slap in the face to me was, they wanted me try to get me to accept some bogus deal for a very used older vechicle under the guise of a credit building program. I was smart this time and taped all my conversations via the telephone with the Gateway Chevrolet finance Dept., and will be used to follow up further. Credit problems beset alot of us and with the intention of trying to right a few bad decisions, dealers such as these, prey on our type of situations with unethical practices and lies. Please beware, spread the word and put these types of dealers out of business.

My Review of Gateway Chevrolet:
My husband and I drove over an hour to get to the dealership after speaking with Joel on the phone. We were looking for a car under $4,000 as this was to be transportation for my husband just back and forth to work, 10 miles each way. Once we got there, we were informed that they do not finance cars under $5,000 and they pulled the bait and switch and tried to get us in a $7,000 car which with what they were charging for interest and the length of the loan, made a used Chevy Cavalier well over $20,000. When we told Joel we were not interested and asked for my husband's drivers license back, we were basically held hostage and apparently the rest of the sales staff found us very amusing as we stood there with our screaming 3 month old pleading for our property back. This dealership is full of scam artists and greasy slimeball sales reps. DO NOT DARKEN THEIR DOORSTEP!!!

My Review of Gateway Chevrolet:
I went into the dealership to pick up my car from the service department, upon leaving I stopped to ask a question about purchasing a new vehicle...and was subsequently sat down and told that I could get not 1 but 2 brand new vehicles with no money down. I was constantly told that my car was crap and I should get the new ones. I was there for over 7 hours, had to ride with the salesman to another dealership to pick up the cars, then processed and sent on my way. I was later informed that they couldn't get me financed, this was after they sent my paperwork to several finance companies {which screwed up my credit rating...I told them to only submit it to 2 at the most and if it wouldn't go through..then I would return the vehicles}. I later found out that I didn't get financed because the salesman waited almost a month {after he received his commission} before he sent the proposal to my current finance company, so he knew it would get declined..but he got his commission on 2 vehicles that he probably later sold to someone else.
