My Review Of Gene Langan Volkswagen Inc:
I was gathering information on several makes of cars in anticipation of buying in a year or two. I had already visited a vw dealership in Canton, Ct (twice), Nissan in Torrington and Mazda in Thomaston. My physical therapist suggested I go to Langan and request Dave. When I arrived Dave was with another customer so Dennis stepped up and gave me information on several models, and when I liked the comfort of the Jetta he suggested I take a drive. As he brought the car around Dave became available and continued the sales process. After driving the Jetta hybrid and learning about the fuel advantages, along with vw and Langan's incentives, I decided that I'd found the car I wanted to own. Dave was most instrumental in moving me forward so that I felt that my decision was a good one. He was respectful and patient - did I say that I was driving a 13 yr old Lexus? Clearly, I don't normally make quick decisions! And Chase, who delivered the car, was terrific in explaining all the technology that's been put in place in the last 13 yrs.
Four days after my purchase the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, and it was only Thanksgiving Day so I knew right off that something was wrong. I made the one hour trip from home to arrive at Langan at 7:30am the next day, unannounced I might add. The sales team was great! They took it right in and started trouble shooting- after about an hour they realized that they needed more time so they gave me a loaner so I could go home. By days end I received a phone call saying that it was fixed.
I have been a sales and customer service trainer for 20 years in other industries - the skills the Langan folks possess are impressive. It's also obvious to me that their work ethic and great attitude is directly related to the way in which Gene Langan manages his business. His attention to procedural detail and marketing is amazing, and also a lot of fun for the customer.
