My Review of Golden Gate VW:
Please, ANYONE even thinking of buying a car at Team Volkswagen Daly City, Team Volkswagen in Hayward, or GoldenGate VW, PLEASE do an internet search under the name "Mathew Zaheri." MATHEW ZAHERI IS THE OWNER OF THIS DEALERSHIP. You will find out a lot about his nefarious past. He is the worst of the worst, a repeated shyster, who will use high pressure tactics and then lawyers to get what he wants. Don't walk -- RUN AWAY.
The first clue was that I found it very, very strange that, after dealing with him personally, he never gave me a card, and I had to ask HIM for his name (he only told me "Matt"). It took quite a bit of sleuthing on the internet to find out his last name -- it is NOT printed on ANY of the paperwork, OR even mentioned on his websites. Wouldn't you wonder why? Well, now I know.
You will find all you need to know about this unsavory dealership if you do a search of his name. For instance: Mathew Zaheri lost his previous Mitsubishi franchise because Mitsubishi did a company audit and found "MASSIVE WARRANTY FRAUD" THAT WAS DESCRIBED AS "BREAKING ALL RECORDS."
Also, please read all about the "Matthew Ghali" story -- a consumer who felt he had bad service at GoldenGateVW (this was the previous name of Team Volkswagen). Mr. Ghali ended up spending $40K to defend his right to free speech after Mr. Zaheri SUED HIM for the the statements Mr. Ghali put on his website after his negative experience with Goldengate VW. Somewhere along the line Zaheri is quoted as swearing profusely AND calling Mr. Ghali's fiance a "bitch." Sounds like there was some pushing going on as well. What a nice guy, makes my skin crawl. Very interesting reading, though, highly recommended.
If you are wondering why I know all this, it is because I was recently doing a transaction with Team VW. Well, they are reneging on their deal with me, and I decided to find out a little more about these people. I was very suspicious from the beginning, and now I feel extremely vindicated because it is obvious these is the King of SleazeballS.
OF COURSE, THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, thank goodness for my Right to Free Speech! Mr. Zaheri changed the name of his business, and doesn't even list his own name ANYWHERE -- apparently he is an embarrassment to himself. At least he has that right.
Stay away. Go anywhere else, but DO NOT GO TO TEAM VOLKSWAGEN IN DALY CITY OR HAYWARD.
