My Review of Grapevine Suzuki:
My fiance' and I were in the market for a lightly used car after my car was rear-ended and totaled. We did a lot of research on the internet, primarily thru AutoTrader. After our research, we decided that we wanted a white Mazda RX-8 (2005 or newer). Suzuki of Grapevine's website that they had one on their lot -- and at a great price too!

We drove from Denton especially to see this car. When we arrived, we were pounced on by Scott. We knew what we were looking for, and we weren't looking to play games, so we asked if we could see the white 2005 RX-8 that we saw advertised online. But he insisted that we "walk inside to talk things over" prior to seeing the car. On our way to his cubical, he told us that his wife had an RX-8, and that it was a great car.

He sat us at his cubical, and left us for a few minutes. He started filling out a customer profile on us. I interrupted and asked what the purpose was, since we just wanted to know if we could see the car. He said that the profile was to enter us in a drawing to win a 4-wheeler that they give away every weekend. I was hesitant, but provided him with my address and my phone number.

AFTER he collected our information, he told us that they had sold the RX-8 two days ago, and asked us if there was anything else that we might be interested in. (Bait and switch?) Before giving me an opportunity to respond, he proceeded to tell me how awful the RX-8 was, and about the maintenance "shit" (his word, not ours) that he and his wife were dealing with. (This was the same guy that was praising the car five minutes earlier.)

I hesitantly said that we MIGHT be interested in a Nissan 350Z, if the options and the price was right. He said that there were two on the lot. He asked if we'd like to see them, and we jumped at the opportunity to finally see a car. We started walking the lot, and he immediately pulled out a cigarette and started puffing away. (My fiance' and I are not smokers. It's not that we've got a problem with smokers. We just didn't appreciate the complete lack of consideration and it struck us as being completely unprofessional.)

After 5 minutes of walking the lot, and telling us how awful RX-8's are, he admitted that he had no idea where the 350Z's on his lot were. He asked if we would mind if he went back to his office to find out where the 350Z's were, and we said that we didn't mind. (We were extremely happy to get rid of him!)

We walked the lot on our own and decided that we didn't see anything that we liked, and that we didn't want to deal with him or any of the other staff at Suzuki of Grapevine. Out of courtesy, we didn't leave right away. We waited for him to return, and let me know that we would return if we didn't find anything else anywhere else. He insisted that we provide a $500 down payment for a vehicle location service that would "guarantee" that they would find us a used RX-8 to match the specs that we defined. It seemed shady -- very shady -- so we decided to walk.

Before we had an opportunity to leave, he got his manager, who also decided to let us know that they could get any car we wanted, within two days, with a $500 deposit. He wasn't as bad as Scott -- but we still got a less-than-good vibe from the guy.

The whole experience was pretty awful. From the bait and switch, to the sales staff who was unprofessional, pushy, and very arrogant.

Scott called me about an hour later to let me know that they had just got a 350Z in. I told him that we were still looking for an RX-8, but that, if we couldn't find one, we'd stop back by... but he hung up on me before I had a chance to complete my sentence.

AWFUL! I don't know how this place stays in business!

Scott called me today, two days after our awful experience on the lot, and the phone call that he hung up on me during. We'll never set foot on that car lot again!

My Review of Grapevine Suzuki:
Avoid like the plague! Bait and Switch!

I called several times before going to the showroom to confirm answers for my questions, especially financing (I have bad credit), and was given all the right answers to get me on their property, but when I arrived, all that information went out the window. And they were completely unapologetic. I was up front and honest about my financial situation, and they abused my confidence.

Their advertised internet prices are fake - designed to lure you in, but they have no intention of honoring those prices. Their excuse: "Oh, those are our lease prices." Even though I asked explicitly if those were the actual prices of the car. I inquired there because I had a HORRIBLE experience with another dealership, and was ASSURED that there would be no games and I would be treated well and ethically.

Examples:

I made an appointment, and was greeted lukewarmly at best and sent to sit in an office for 2.5 hours (no exaggeration!) before being acknowledged, or shown any vehicles, or given the opportunity to test drive a car. I was made to feel like an inconvenience by everyone, and when I complained that I had been waiting for over 2 hours, I was told I needed to be patient - no apologies or anything. Arrogant, rude employees, the whole bunch.

Also, when I went for my test drive, the salesman didn't ride with me. Isn't that a HUGE liability issue for them?

Even though I was told by the Finance Dept. that I was pre-approved and wouldn't have to spend more than I had as a down pay, they came back and said I had to put down $5000 on a $15000 car (NOT the agreed upon down pay)! And they wouldn't honor Suzuki's GUARANTEED customer cash back incentives/rebates.

When I told them that no one else was demanding that kind of down pay, my salesman just laughed and said, "Then why are you HERE?" I guess he made it clear they didn't need my business.

When I inquired about the significantly prices in the paper, on the internet, and on the FREAKING COMMERCIALS playing on every monitor in the building, his response was, "I didn't make the commercials." But shouldn't you honor your advertising?

When I said I had gotten better down payment offers at other dealers, the salesman smirked and said, "Then why are you HERE?"

Avoid Internet Manager Michael Wells. He is a seedy little scumbag who doesn't care about anything but his bottom line. He's a liar and a cheat.

My Review of Grapevine Suzuki:
My son bought a used 2002 4 door Dodge 1500 truck from these people and they were about the most unprofessional people I have ever been around in the car business. They stuck it to my son pretty hard on his deal. Then they acted like he was being a pain in their butt when he had to go back and ask for a spare tire and a jack to the truck of which he never received a jack. He also asked for the door lock remotes to the truck and they claimed they didn't have one, well there is a good example of customer service if I ever saw it. We later found that the truck had been wrecked and re-painted very cheap workmanship I might add. They sold him down the river and I would not recommend buying a go cart or lawn mower from these people.

My Review of Grapevine Suzuki:
I have dealt with several dealerships in the DFW area. As a person with credit problems I knew I would have a challenge getting financed. Over 90% of this dealership's business revolves around 2nd chance financing.

I filled out an application online and was contacted by Carmen in used car sales. I finally got tired of avoiding her and decided to give her a shot, afterall she promised she could get me into a car.

I told her I wanted the car in my name and was told I needed a co-signer. I was then told my co-signer was a strong one and that I was approved. I went to sign the paperwork and was told that I could not have my name on the title or loan because my credit was so bad that it had to be in my co-signer's name only.

This salesperson told me anything she thought I wanted to hear in order to take this car. Her boss Shane was less than enthusiastic to try to help the situation. I felt like I was bothering him when I asked for his help after I got tired of being pushed into buying this car.

To make a long story short, I missed over 5 hours of class and my hubby miss 5 hours of work in 2 days and we walked away without a car and nothing but empty promises.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this dealership!!
