My Review of Hancock BMW:
I wrote my original review in 2003 based on service. I returned recently to look at Hancock's inventory and was approached by a salesman. I told him I was only looking and he was very insistent that he wanted to sell the car I was looking at and to talk it over. I regret having wasted the time to do this since the "offer" they came back with was the sticker price with a ridiculously high interest rate (my credit rating is over 800, so that was NOT an excuse). When I nicely told them I wasn't interested, the Finance Manager became rude and insulting. I live in Columbia but will never return to this dealership even for service. It was not a surprise to read here that Hancock was fraudulently trying to improve their rating on this board. Very sleazy operation.
I bought a car from Hendrick Imports in Charlotte with a completely opposite experience. Lenny Shealor is pleasant, not pushy, and very accommodating as is all their staff.

My Review of Hancock BMW:
I bought first BMW from Jeremy this past April. He negotiated a fair price over the phone, located my car, and added my requested upgrades all in less than a week. He is knowledgeable, courteous, and has a great personality. I have since dropped my car at the service department to add one more upgrade. Scott, the service manager had my loaner waiting plus gave me his personal cell phone number. Again a great experience.

My Review of Hancock BMW:
I've had my car for 3 years under lease. Both their service and sales seem to be very touch-and-go depending on who you deal with. 3 years ago I would have rated both sales and service a "1" across the board because the salesmen were all arrogant and lazy. The service then was also lax. Today, the staff seems to be different and I have had both good and bad experiences depending on who I talk to. Michael in service is EXCELLENT and offers very personalized service going out of his way to please. On the other hand, I have called and spoken to someone else in service and the person was upset he had to look up information, said he would call me back with it, and then never called. As far as sales, I can only hope the staff has been revamped. When I was sitting in the showroom doing paperwork, I overheard salemen talking about other customers and screening phone calls with the receptionist if it was a customer they didn't want to talk to. I found my calls were also screened when I tried to contact my own salesman. Strangely enough, when you call and ask for the manager, your salesman will suddenly become free and pick up.
