My Review of Headquarter Toyota:
To whom it may concern,
My name is Boris Raskin. My wife and I are 73 yrs of age and retired engineers. We have been going to Champion Toyota in Northeast Philadelphia for over 10 years for all our new car purchases and maintenance. We have always been very happy with the service we have received at Champion Toyota in every way and in every department. On June 23rd, 2005, we went to the dealership with our grandson who is of legal age to drive, to start negotiations on a 2005 Toyota Camry LE loaded with a lot of aftermarket options that was advertised as being $20,999. We were also interested in looking for a Scion TC for our grandson, the same one who accompanied us to the dealership that day. The sales representative who assisted us that day was Edward Kogan. We came in and he sat us down at a desk in the lobby to wait for him. He informed us that no offices were available so we negotiated at that same waiting desk. From the very beginning, he was rude, arrogent and in no way helpful to us. He even went as far as to say to us “I will not give you this car for a dollar less. If you see it for $20,998, you buy it because that’s better than what you’re going to get from me.” His tone was totally beligerent and uncalled for, seeing as how we were wholly serious buyers and had not said anything to bring about such a hostile response. We were merely trying to find out if we could negotiate a deal for this vehicle that would fall within the price range that we, as retired senior citzens, living on a fixed income could afford. He seemed to be very annoyed with our requests for him to find out the monthly payments for several different combinations of vehicle prices and down payments. The last time he had to go lookup a price he made very clear that he was aggrivated by storming out of the little space we were in and exclaiming “Unbelieveable!” He came back and said that this is the best that he could do for us and then started trying to convince us, that if we didn’t want this car he could sell us a variety of other ones for the price we wanted. However, we related to him the fact that we were very taken aback by this beautiful white Camry and that this was the only car we wanted to buy. At this point he grew even more and more aggrivated, and finally I lost patience with him and decided to discontinue negotiations and leave the dealership. As I got up and collected the price quotes he printed out for me to take, he snatched the papers from my hand and said that I was not allowed to have those papers, and that we needed to leave.

My wife and I are not the only people who have had very bad experiences with him. Our daughter, purchased a 2005 Camry from him in December and she had warned us about his terrible attitude and arrogence. Howver we decided to chose him due to the fact that he spoke Russian and our english is not as good as our Russian. We also purchased a 1995 Toyota Corolla from him in 1995 and we were on familiar terms with him. To say the least, it was a big mistake dealing with him.

We wish to continue using Champion Toyota because of their otherwise excellent service, but we would really like to see this problem solved for the sake of our future dealings with the dealership and also the sake of potential buyers.

Sincerely,
Boris Raskin
