My Review of Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz:
I have way too much to write, but i'll put it in a nutshell. I had a sales lady who never, NEVER returned phone calls, and would tell me to call her to remind her about things because she was busy, i mean who's selling cars here, me or her? After putting my car in a wholesale auction no one ever called me back for the auction results, turns out that my sales lady went on vacation without telling me. I go to the dealer, speak to the sales manager, threaten to go to another dealer for business so they have me speak to another sales guy. He runs up some numbers, tells me the offer from the wholesaler for my trade in and tells me my new c300 will be here in July, its May and has already been a month since we first visited the dealer. My sales lady comes back, tells me the car will be here second week of June the LATEST, she'll call me when the car is in. I plan a family trip for the weekend of the second week of June. Its wednesday of the second week...no phone call. So i call and she says she doubts the car will be in by then, i get mad tell her she told me it will be, im going to pay cancellation fees for my trip she tells me she'll cal me back with updates. Never calls me, i call her, finally my car is in. Every time i speak to her (after hunting her down) she thanks me for my patience. Upon delivery of the car she tells me im going to get a survey online, to just give everyone a good review...and brushed it off. I get the survey...i answer honestly, stating the sales person was not good, i would never buy another car from them, etc. A few days later she calls to say shes dissapointed in the survey and that it cost her in the thousands. Next time stay on top of your job and treat clients with a little more haste and you wont have to ask your customers to lie on a survey and it wont cost you "in the thousands".

My Review of Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz:
My second brush with Helms Bros was not as pleasant as my first one, far from it, actually. Without going into detail, I brought my car in on a Friday for a problem with my ABS and didn't get it back til Tuesday of the following week, it cost me $2,000 (they found a few more things like leaking bushings and stuff) and when I finally picked it up one of my windows was stuck in a slightly open position and there was complimentary water all over the back seats from the complimentary wash. When I brought up the fact that the window was working fine when I brought the car in, I was treated with a shoulder shrug and a quick quote of another $400 to fix something I'm pretty sure was not broken when I had left the car with them. They didn't have the decency to offer to pay for at least half the job. I left the dealership with my window held closed with SCOTCH TAPE !!! and went to my neighborhood mechanic who sent me to a place that did the job for $275 in a couple of hours, so I didn't have to leave the car til the next day. After I got home the guy from the dealership started calling me trying to get me to go back, talking about giving me a break on the window regulator, but I never returned his calls. Too little too late, guys! I'm not going back there EVER again!

My Review of Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz:
This dealership is total garbage. They don't even bother to come over and help you. I was walking around the showroom while the poor receptionist was trying to get somebody to help me. She was the only friendly one but too bad she couldn't help me. I saw two salesmen yet they totally ignored even after they saw me looking at the cars. I even saw the receptionist call the sales people's desks and yet they were sitting there ignoring her. The sales manager was sitting in her office chatting on the phone. This dealership is horrible with EXTREMELY BAD customer service. After pondering around by myself, I ended up just walking out. I had such a bad experience I ended up driving all the way to the long island dealership Rallye to happily buy my E350.

My Review of Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz:
I went to the Helms Bros service department today for a scheduled service on my Benz. I must say the experience was outstanding. From the moment we pulled in to the time we picked up the car two hours later (on a Saturday), my wife and I were treated like VIP's, everyone from the people who greeted us outside and took over the car to the receptionist, to the person who did the paperwork and the cashier, was extremely courteous, helpful and respectful, and the cost of the service performed was totally acceptable. I don't work for Helms Bros, I'm not related to any of them, hadn't even heard of them until a couple of weeks ago, and I don't usually submit reviews of this kind, but I was really very positively impressed and pleasantly surprised, since this is, after all, New York.

My Review of Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz:
I know friends of mine who worked for Helms Bros. It s afunny thing they call it Helms Bros and not Helms sisters. Have u noticed all of upper management are women??? Not to mention the sales manager has no clue what so ever how to deal with people or sell cars. All she kept telling me about was their beautiful service center. I don t care. I was looking for an automobile. They said they wouldn and couldn t budge on price!
Funny. I got the same car at Rallye for over $2500 less(E350 4 matic). Exact same equipment. They play some game with you.
Trust me go to Rallye. MUCH, much better pricing, and terrific service people!

My Review of Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz:
kinda weird reading some of the comments on here about this dealer. I've had nothing but the best experiences here, this is the 4th mercedes i've bought here and i've shopped around everytime (you still need to check your prices). Competing dealers are also friendly but too big for their roots (Rallye). I had to service my flat tire there and it took 5 hours to complete. They wouldnt giver me a loaner because they saw I bought from Helms. They may have had a better shot next e-class if they treated me right. Anyhow, Helms has done me right so i definately recommend.

My Review of Helms Bros Mercedes-Benz:
I'm glad you guys were even able to buy a M/B from them. When I went there to see an E series car, no one would even acknownledge me; there were a least 2 salesmen there talking to each other doing nothing. So, I just walked around the show room waiting & left after 20 minutes without being helped. After going to Helms Bros. I totally understand why many people in NYC are unwilling to do business with them. They are all Very high & mighty arrogant salespeople with attitude problems. Now I know why consumers are turning to the Japanese makes like Infinity & Lexus. After Helms Bros. I switched my desire for a M/B and looked at the Audi. At the end I bought an Audi Allroad from a dealer in New Jersey off of route 78 that had great salespeople, salesmanger, and a great service dept. who treated their customers with respect. Hey Helms Bro. don't look at customers by what they wear or what cars they drive up it to your dealership, because us sneaker & t-shirt wearing guys may have money to buy that car of yours outright.

This was reported by the New York Post !

DO NOT SERVICE YOUR MERCEDES AT HELMS BROTHERS

Link: http://www.benzworld.org/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=1234139&posts=10&fid=30

Beware of this dealer in Queens, NY.

A businessman blew a gasket when he found out a Mercedes dealership mechanic allegedly took his $80,000 SUV on an unauthorized road trip.

Fred Asher, 30, told The Post yesterday he took his swank black four-wheel drive G500 to Helms Brothers Mercedes-Benz in Bayside, Queens, Wednesday morning for a 10,000-mile checkup.

But when Asher returned in the evening to pick it up, employees there told him they didn't know where it was and sent him home with a loaner car. The dealership called a day later to tell him they were waiting for parts and that the car would be ready Friday.

But when Asher showed up Saturday afternoon, he said, "Half an hour passed. They said, 'We're having a little problem finding your car. Just take another loaner car and we'll find it on Monday.' "

But Asher was out of patience. He called police, as well as OnStar, the onboard tracking system.

Cops followed the signal to 186th Street and Hillside Avenue in Hollis, where they nabbed Bramday Sundown - a Helms Brothers mechanic - shortly before 2 a.m., police said. It wasn't clear if the car had been out since Wednesday or was taken on Saturday.

Sundown's father George, 54, said his son often took cars home from Helms Brothers - but with the authorization of the dealership, he believed.

Calls to Helms Brothers were not returned.
