My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
I just purchased my second vehicle from this dealership and will absolutly purchase my next one from Herb Chambers in Burlington. The staff is very perfessional and polite. I would recommend this dealer to all of my friends and family and have. I've already had three friends that have purchased their honda's here and they all had equally excellent experiences as I did!

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
My husband and I went in looking for a specific car. We had already been to another dealership and had done our homework online regarding pricing and options. The first quote we were given was very, very high. Stupid high. We were dumbfounded and let the salesperson know that we had a quote from another dealership that was over $2,000 cheaper, and he acted like it was impossible. Finally, after some pretend haggling with the sales manager, he came back and acted like it was a miracle of some sort that they could match our other quote. We weren't very impressed and said we needed time to think about it. We planned on going to lunch across the street and told the sales manager and salesperson that we may be back after lunch.

The Sales Manager on the floor was a total JERK. He walked by, glaring at us, and muttered something about "they won't be eating there..." As if he were angry at us for doing our homework about the pricing of the vehicle we wanted. The salesperson tried to smooth it over and followed us out the door, trying to talk us into putting a deposit on the car before we left!! Way too pressured for us. We needed time to think. WE are SO GLAD that we walked out because we ended up with a way better deal on the same car at Peter's Honda of Nashua. We will never go into Herb Chambers- Burlington again- the high-pressure sales tactics and unprofessional sales manager were the deal-breakers.
I would not recommend any of my friends or family to this dealership, knowing how they operate.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
I have to say reading these other comments on the site I am absolutely stunned they could be talking about the same dealership. When I arrived to the dealership I was friendly greeted by TJ Madden. He sat me down at his desk offered me a coffee and really helped me understand the honda product and which car could fit my needs and my budget. Less than an hour later I was driving my new CRV home; fantastic car by the way..

So overall, I would definitely recommend this dealer and especially TJ Madden.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
This is the worst dealership I have ever dealt with. Over the phone, my husband and I were quoted one price, and when we went in to buy, we were told we had been quoted the incorrect price and we would now have to pay several hundred dollars more.

In the course of trying to buy our Honda, we were accused of lying several times, left waiting for long periods of times, and the sales people attempted to intimidate us into buying a car. We finally walked out, and will never again return.

DO NOT GO TO HERB CHAMBERS!!!

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
Most horrible car-buying experience ever (April 2006)--STAY AWAY!! Price was fair (researched KBB and Edmunds first) for 2003 Civic, and salesperson Amjad was fairly nice. Classic bait-and-switch, though--I called beforehand to ask if they had any pre-owned Civics or Integras in stock with manual trans--they said they had "plenty." Of course, got there and they had only one. Paid $400 extra for the pre-owned "certification." Dealer didn't provide ONE PAGE of documentation! What should've been provided but wasn't?

• Owners manual
• New Car Warranty manual
• Certified Warranty Booklet
• Copy of HCUC 150-pt. Inspection Checklist
• Radio Security Code (if battery dies, radio won't work without this)

They also promised, but failed, to fix rear bumper damage, and delivered the car 3 days later than they had promised, with only 1 key (not specific to checklist, but not exactly "like new" either). As for the documentation, after 3 phone calls to the sales associate, his supervisor took my call and actually threw me the "they're in the mail" line. Suffice it to say--never got 'em. And will never give Herb Chambers another cent of my business! STAY AWAY!

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
How on earth these people sell cars is beyond me!

Long story short, our 45 min experience consisted of: seeing one old lady by herself being completely ripped off for MSRP (at the end of the model year!!); another couple finalizing their deal only to be told right before signing it would be another $360--to which the Manager announces so loud everyone around could hear, "your really going to argue over $300 more bucks" (they walked out after watching to make sure their paperwork was shredded), and of course our fantastic experience, which was laughable and ended up with us walking out.

Bottom line- Beware of hot head manager who wears linen button down short sleeve shirt to work and has absolutely no tact or customer curtesy. Sales people are learning from a terrible role model on how to deal with people & sell cars. Maybe if you go when this loser isn't around and you'll have a better experience than we did.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
I went to the dealer to see a used minivan listed on their website. I was told it was actually at a different dealership in their chain. I explained I needed a base model with only one option: cruise control. I was shown a very upscale (leather, powered doors, etc.) 3 year old used van that was $5000 more and in very poor condition....trashed carpeting and seats, many large scratches on the body, etc. I was then shown new ones but not the base model, when I expressed no interest they suddenly found "one" base model on the lot. I was then quoted a price at $2000 over invoice as a staring point...$11000 more than the used car I had come to see...and told that one would sell fast. In other words, every classic bait and switch move possible. The salesman was obviously uninterested in even beginning to work with me since he had ignored everything I had told him.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
While buying a car is never really fun. This by far has to be one of the worst car dealerships I have ever been to in my life. I found them to be very pushy and really don't listen to what you have to say. After making an offer on a new CRV they would not not give me a yes or no answer if they would take it. They just kept playing games, all I wanted was an answer. The sales man walked back and forth to the manager 100 time and just relayed his message it got to the point where I just wanted to talk to him.

After getting pissed off enough to just walk out (which I have never done before) they had the nerve to ask for a $500 deposit to hold the car!

After doing a little research at home I went to Honda North which had better reviews and their no argue price was a few hundred dollars lower than Herb Chambers. They have a lot of young people working there who have not been there very long, it kind of lead me to believe they don't treat employees so I could imagine how they would treat a customer after the purchase since they were even jerks during the purchase. I would stay away.

****STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE*****
I would say you are lucky to visit this site and view the customer’s views about these people. Unfortunately it is too late for me. I was there for state inspection for my 2006 Odyssey EX-L with Nav \ DVD. I went to check for the new honda pilot in the showroom. They gave price of $37640 for pilot ex-l with nav \ dvd and $24000 trade-in for Odyssey. I said I need time to decide and i will come tomorrow. Mr. SalesRep was scary and pushed me pay $1000 on my credit card. Mr. SalesRep gave me just the $1000 paid receipt and said the car should be ready in next 7 to 10 day. I gave a phone call next day and requested to cancel purchase. They asked me to come down to showroom and talk to General Manager. I went and requested Mr. Ed general manager and he asked me to talk to another Manager. I requested Mr. Manager and said I am also ready for $1000 as cancellation fee which i paid as a first payment. Mr. Manager said he will try and update next day after talking to his Manager. And next day they say they can't cancel and said car is ready to pick. Unfortunately it was closing time when I went to showroom and requested again which they rejected my request and gave a set of papers and New Car. I was home and read purchase contract where I read PURCHASER MAY CANCEL THIS CONTRACT AND RECEIVE A FULL REFUND AT ANY TIME UNTIL S/HE RECEIVES A COPY OF THIS CONTRACT SIGNED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER REPRESENTATIVE. PURCHAER MUST GIVE WRITTEN NOTICE OF CANCELLATION TO THE DEALER. I was totally surprised the way these people fooled me after my many requests. I still didn’t come out from the shock.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
Stay away from this place. We went in looking for a new car, and after a really long wait someone managed to take notice of us and right from the get go, it was just aggressive marketing. Both the sales assistant and the sales manager were using hardball tactics and were extremely rude and pushy. In the end, I felt like I didn't want to buy the car there even if I got the deal of my lifetime after the way they kept treating us. Car buying doesn't necessarily have to be such a harrowing experience and these people need to learn to at least respect their customers, and NOT take them for granted.

Do yourself a favor and don't go there! It's a shark tank.

Called me in to put a deposit on a car. They did not have the car in stock. They proceeded to hardball negotiate on the car. (My wife and 1 year old with me). When I asked the sales manager why they were being such asses about a car they couldn't even count toward their month end numbers due to not being in stock, he said "your right" and walked away.

These guys are jerks, run away, far far away.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
Seems that my experience was not unusual. I had used this dealer for service of a Honda bought in PA years before, and was generally happy with the service department. So when it was time to buy a new car for the wife, I figured that this would be a logical place to go. We were looking all over for a particular color of car, and when we spoke to the saleswomen on the phone, she said they had it, and we could come by to see it that evening. So we discussed the deal I was looking for, I arranged with her that we would come by (about 20 miles away) at 5pm, and she agreed. About 5 minutes before I actually arrived, I got a message that the car was sold and no longer there. I was extremely unhappy with this, in light of the distance I had to travel to get there. Their attitude is that they can't just hold cars, since people cancell appointments all the time. Since I had not, in fact, cancelled my appointment, and was standing in their showroom, that seemed like a silly arguement to make to me. They basically made me feel like they were not concerned for my business, and would do nothing to try to make me happy.

I hope they sell lots of cars, but they will never sell me a car or service my cars again. With all their business, I'm sure it doesn't matter to them, but I cannot imagine ever being in a position to let a customer walk out of my place of business feeling that way.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
This dealership has the rudest customer service people. AND they don't care. They have shoddy work at best. I left there after a 30,000 mile maintenance and discovered I had a broken strut. Did they even perform a thorough maintenance, I don't think so. When I complained on the phone survey I was phoned by the GM and the service people continually for a week. They weren't asking what they could do better they just wanted to know why and how come I wanted to affect their rating. Give me a break. I am so glad now that I won't be dealing with them any more.

The salesman has no sense of time, late at my appointment. When the manager came and talked about the pricing, the manager was rude and arrogant. I ended up buying my Civic at different dealership on the really next day. It was totally waste my time to go and see them. I would NEVER do anything business with this dealership.

My Review of Herb Chambers Honda of Burlington:
Josh was nice but it boiled down to a pressurized hard sell. He was intent that I buy the car today, and would not give a test drive until we had worked out the numbers. I was disappointed that I was expected to negotiate the price of a car I did not know well enough. The $3,000 surcharge over MSRP was also a turnoff, but I'm a capitalist -- I can appreciate market demand -- so all I'll say is that Herb Chambers seems expensive. (Given they have 4 dealerships, I guess they're expert at extracting money from customers!) I was certain I would not get a good deal there.
